I should be doing something productive, but I do not feel like it. I have been attempting to write an essay for my study abroad application - the usual stuff about why they should choose me over all the other candidates. I hate this kind of thing - it's freaking hard to find a balance between sounding full of yourself and being too self-effacing.

Baking today. I have made lemon scones and snickerdoodle cookies are in progress, slightly hampered by the lack of either cream of tartar or a mixer. Also, N bought self-rising flour accidentally and so I am attempting to compensate for that.
