I should be doing something productive, but I do not feel like it. I have been attempting to write an essay for my study abroad application - the usual stuff about why they should choose me over all the other candidates. I hate this kind of thing - it's freaking hard to find a balance between sounding full of yourself and being too self-effacing.

Baking today. I have made lemon scones and snickerdoodle cookies are in progress, slightly hampered by the lack of either cream of tartar or a mixer. Also, N bought self-rising flour accidentally and so I am attempting to compensate for that. So I have a three-hour class break and I really want to go home, get some lunch, fold my laundry, take a nap. Sounds very appealing, no? Especially since I had so much trouble falling asleep last night.

Is it wrong to be annoyed when people say, "real women have curves," or "uniform dresses are designed for twelve-year-old boys?" I mean, I approve of the way they're not saying you have to be super-skinny to be beautiful. But being below a size six does not mean you're not a "real woman."
