Is it wrong to be annoyed when people say, "real women have curves," or "uniform dresses are designed for twelve-year-old boys?" I mean, I approve of the way they're not saying you have to be super-skinny to be beautiful. But being below a size six does not mean you're not a "real woman." I know I'm probably being hypersensitive and everyone's somewhat dissatisfied with their body, but I think when people say stuff like this they're discounting other people, just as much if not as importantly as when people over a size ten are considered fat and unnattractive. I think it's not as important because there's so much more of a stigma to size in this country, especially in women. But I think it's the same kind of thinking, only in reverse when naturally small or thin people are dismissed as "not real women" or "built like a twelve-year-old." Ah, well, I'll just take my 12-year-old body off now.
