As Real As It Gets
The day Teyla learned that she was pregnant should have been a happy one…
He had been training with the newest addition to the orca family, Acastus II, when the whale had suddenly turned violent, slamming him repeatedly against the observation window.
Aiden Ford had been dead before the rescue team had managed to get him out of the pool, leaving behind three grieving lovers.
…not the day to mourn the loss of her partner and father of her unborn child.

The day Teyla's job was given to a younger, male biologist should have been a sad one…
He had been working at the San Diego park for the last three years as the assistant to the Chief Marine Biologist.
Ronon Dex was young and handsome, intelligent, top 3% of his year at UCLA.
On paper, he was so much like Aiden Ford. In reality, he was nothing like him.
…not the day to begin the healing all three lovers had so desperately needed.

The day Teyla’s son was born should have been the happiest day of her life…
He had refused to be born until all his parents had finally arrived.
Aiden Emmagan was so small. Chocolate brown skin, dark curly hair and the nose just like his father's.
…and it truly was.

The day this picture was taken was Teyla’s first day back at work…

A/N: The moment I saw the prompt, I thought, 'Huh? Cool, Teyla's the Chief Marine Biologist at SeaWorld.' It only occured to me after I had claimed it that briar_pipe probably didn't mean the amusement parks, but something like this. Beautiful, isn't it. ileliberte? If you read this: I hope you don't mind me linking to your picture.
By the time I had started on the picture, I had this whole background story floating around in the back of my head. Nothing unusual actually, but it was the first time that I really wanted to write it down. Well, I failed at writing it, but thanks to the wonderful lavvyan I managed to write this little ficlet. Thank you, sweetie.
One day I might write the whole thing.
