I had an interesting dream this morning, about a new invention: a hood for toddlers and small children that worked like blinkers on a horse, so they were easier to manage.

(1) the airport food court has not one, but two smoking areas,
(2) they're open to the rest of the food court,
(3) that's where the vending machines are, and
(4) there are more people in the smoking areas than in all the rest of the food court.

(1) Luna moths! Two in the house. Pretty.

(2) Monarch butterflies! These flocked through my home town in Illinois each year when I was growing up. Now I know where they spent the winter.

Just got back from breakfast (at an outpost of the other Evil Empire from Washington State) with docorion. We sat outside, because they kept it a bit too chilly inside the Starbucks. Since we were both in T-shirts and I was in sandals, it was more comfortable outside. Happy February 14th, everybody!

Good thing the sun finally came out, after yesterday’s rain! Otherwise it would have been too cold to swim in the pool this afternoon. But, what can you expect for the middle of winter?

Well, the weather here has been lousy the last couple of days. I mean, we had to cut short our trip to the beach yesterday after only two or three hours, because it started raining.
