A very happy birthday to desiringsubject, who got her birthday extra early this year due to being just a few timezones west of the International Date Line.

I have unfortunately been terribly remiss about birthday wishes lately. So belated happy birthdays to majes and dan4th, too, both of whom had birthdays earlier this month.

The rest of our trip to the Cape was great. On our way back, we spent a few hours at the Edward Gorey House, which was great. It’s a fascinating place celebrating a fascinatingly weird person. Too lazy to write up my own post, so I’ll just link to plumtreeblossom’s post about our weekend on Cape Cod. (I will add that I actually love the weather here, it’s got that sort of pre- or post-storm energy I really love, and it’s warm enough that the slight intermittent drizzle is pleasant.)

I have it on good authority that there is also some Arby’s in our future.

Hi! For the first time since we met, plumtreeblossom and I are going away for Thanksgiving, to bcat1 [who doesn’t use her LJ account] and spacechicken’s [oops, who doesn’t seem to have one any more] in the land of awesome barbecue North Carolina. We’ll be away something almost a week, from the 22d through the 27th.

• Our bus did not catch on fire.
• We spent a long time lost in the American Museum of Natural History, which is a great place to be lost. Among other things, we saw a neat IMAX movie about aquatic reptiles.
• We spent some time at a dog run on the AMNH grounds.
