Happy birthday to squibbon, one of my best friends and favorite people! Sending you warm wishes and big birthday hugs and hoping I get to see you sometime soon.

No time for a full update, but:

• On Friday, got together with ifuonlyknew, who is at home recuperating from surgery. Was great to hang out with her.

Met eisa Saturday afternoon for good conversation, a tour of her new house, a lunch of Brazilian barbecue, and lots of dog time. It was great to see her!

Then met plumtreeblossom at her place after she got home from class, drove to Quincy for Southern-but-less-Southern barbecue at Firefly’s, and then curled up to watch a couple episodes of Walking with Prehistoric ( Read more... )

The last few days have been excellent. plumtreeblossom has had some good news: (1) thanks to Jim Bunning backing down, her unemployment benefits were reinstated - along with most other people’s who were in her situation -, although there was a lot of confusion around that fact as Massachusetts’ unemployment office ramped up again, (2) she has a temp gig for the ( Read more... )

Friday after work, I met plumtreeblossom after work for fried chicken. The Popeye’s in Kenmore Square where we’d been planning on eating was insanely crowded due to a ball game, so plumtreeblossom suggested we turn it into an impromptu picnic. Hi! I had a fabulous weekend, involving dinner, good conversation, and Reefer Madness: The Musical with eisa on Saturday, and then a date with plumtreeblossom that started with a three-course dinner on Sunday, and continued with a trip to the Topsfield Fair on the holiday Monday.
