I also find present opening a lot calmer and more meaningful when it's a slower more intentional process. Having a lot of people opening gifts at once isn't my favourite.

Drawing stones from a bowl of water is such a sweet, sensual ritual! I'm thinking I'd like to do that so that when all the stones are taken intentions could be set floating votive candles on the water, so as to include all the elements. :)

I'm sorry about Mercury and the painful process you had to go through. <3 <3

I am sorry about your experience…

The ritual does sound wonderful. I pulled a stone as well this season (malachite) and was well pleased with it. I intend to wear it during the year

You are absolutely an artist!

Your Solstice celebration sounds like so much fun, I wish I knew people who celebrated it that way so I could join them.

I'm really sorry about Mercury, I know a lot of people will scoff at a dead fish but for me it doesn't matter if your beloved pet is a dog or a freaking stick insect, it still hurts and matters to you. Personally I think bettas in particular are stunning fish and I would have been just as upset to have lost Mercury, and probably will be when my tank is eventually set up. *big hugs*

I'm so sorry about Mercury. :(

I'm glad that your solstice celebration went well and that everyone loved your gifts (and that Topaz's family also loved them) - it's such an amazing feeling when something you make for people is well received! I also completely feel you on the overwhelming-ness of mass gift opening. I get the same way. It appears one of my nephews is taking after me because he also gets the same way - he hides under the table when everything got overwhelming when I was with my brother and his family and my parents. I was half-tempted to crawl under there with him because I was overwhelmed, too.
