"I, uh, just watch," Meisa told Maki as she turned towards the bed to make it bigger. She said the spell that she thought would make it bigger but watched in embarrassment as her bed shrunk from a full to a twin. "Um... that wasn't supposed to happen. Let me call my mom really quick."
Meisa searched for her phone in her purse and pulled it out, pressing the speed dial for her mom. "Please pick up, please pick up," she chanted as the phone rang.
"Hello?""Hi Mom? What's the spell that'll make the bed bigger? Enough to fit four people?" Meisa's mom pummeled her with questions about why she needed a bed to fit four people. Meisa blushed as she answered. "I'm not drunk! Just, tipsy a bit... I'm having a sort of sleepover." No need for her mom to know that Ohno and Nino were going to be sleeping over and they weren't girls, that would cause more questions Meisa didn't want to answer at the moment. "The spell Mom, please? We're going to be watching a movie soon
( ... )
"Snuggling sounds nice," Meisa said as she lay down next to Ohno. She shifted a bit to get more comfortable in his arms before she realized that she had been face first in his lap earlier in the evening. Blushing and grateful that she had switched off the lights before climbing into bed, Meisa buried her face into Ohno's side to hide her embarrassment anyways.
"Oh my god, I'm so sorry," was all she would say, putting all her effort into watching the movie before she felt her body relaxing completely against Ohno's side.
"We'll do it again, yeah? It was fun," Meisa murmured before her eyes got too heavy. She snuggled into Ohno. "Mmm..."
The four of them settled comfortably and Ohno grinned with it. Nino held Maki, but was still pressed close against his side. He held Meisa and she was..giggling nervously? And then she apologized? "For what?" he asked with a soft laugh. His brain had helpfully squashed the memory of Meisa's face in his lap earlier in the evening to help him calm.
"Very fun," he agreed. And next year he'd make sure he wasn't working for it so he could enjoy it entirely. "Who's the next birthday, anyway?" He asked in curiosity. His own was approximately a month away, but he had no idea when Nino or Meisa's was.
Maki wiggled until she was comfortable against him. Nino loosened his grip on her until she settled, then returned it to a position that was comfortable around her waist.
There was a moment where Nino had to blink at Meisa, wondering why she was apologizing to Ohno. Had she kicked him? Nothing much had happened... then he remembered Ohno looking at him in the taxi, his face red because Meisa's face was in his lap.
Nino laughed. He buried his face in Ohno's shoulder, giggling. That had been a sight.
"It's either yours or Meisa's," Nino said into Ohno's borrowed shirt. "I don't have one."
Maki's head lifted a moment too at Meisa's apology to Ohno, curiosity, and amusement seeing her friend hiding blushing cheeks. She snickered herself, even if she didn't entirely follow why, it was amusing to see Meisa flustered at all.
Much as she tried to hold it off sleep was overtaking her, but Maki tried to keep at least her ears open to the birthday conversation, and who was next, even if her eyes had betrayed her and now refused to open.
She made a soft noise of surprise at Nino admitting he didn't have one, feeling like she wanted to probe deeper into that but not having the energy. Maki just nuzzled at his shoulder instead. She was dozing.
If Ohno had forgotten, that was good but Meisa was embarrassed anyways now that some of the alcohol had cleared from her system. She shook her head into Ohno's shoulder as she heard Nino's amusement on the other side.
Sleep was threatening to win as she fought with it to keep watching the movie and keep up with the conversation. Her friends were right, the bed was comfortable, more so than usual. Was it the spell or the snuggling? She couldn't be bothered to think it through at the moment.
"Mmmm... Nino doesn't have one?" Meisa mumbled, "'m not 'til May."
She closed her eyes, just to rest them, just for a second. Meisa was still awake, but just barely.
"Don't....have to fix that," Ohno said around a yawn. The warmth of all of them curled up against him and the comfort of the bed was quickly pulling him toward sleep.
"November. 26th," he said, giving them his own birthdate. He figured it was best to give them the actual date, since it seemed he was next on the birthday list.
They were yawning all around him. The movie started in the background - there was something about England and accents or something. Nino was too focused on the pile of warmth and sleepy that he was in the middle of. He grinned to himself. Was he the only person here with any stamina? That would be a first.
He brushed his fingers through Maki's hair as she nuzzled into his shoulder. Here, like this, he could pretend Maki's being snuggled up to him was far more intimate than it was. It was a nice little flight of fantasy.
"Wouldn't know what to do with a birthday if I had one," he murmured, and paused to yawn. "Saying my age would be way too much of a mouthful. Probably not the right number, either."
Maki's mind was scrambling to lock in and remember that date, Ohno's birthday was coming up soon! She would have to get him a present and...and...
Fingers in her hair and Maki couldn't have kept her mind from drifting off if she wanted to. The combination of liquor and the fuzzy warmth of all of them together on the bed. The movie droned on the background but Maki couldn't retain the words being spoken before they were flashing by. She'd seen this movie a million times anyway.
And Maki was asleep, in moments, snoring every so quietly against Nino. At least, she wasn't drooling.
Mental note, November 26th is Satoshi's birthday, was Meisa's last thought about the conversation at hand. Her eyes wouldn't open anymore and she tried to say 'goodnight' but instead mumbled something incoherent.
Breathing deeply, her last coherent thought was that Ohno smelled like the salty sea, like the beach and sun, like back home. It was comforting, and Meisa stopped fighting sleep to let it claim her, curled up into Ohno's side.
He blinked at the movie, his fingers never stopping their movement through Maki's hair. He tried to concentrate, to follow what was going on. But it was warm, and it smelled of sleep and contentment, and very soon Nino had drifted into dreams.

[OOC: And I'd say that's finally a wrap.]
