For several reasons I put myself on an artstop until September. This means I am still in the preparation stages of my entry for the
SPN_cinema, so that won't be up until later this month. That's also because I wanted to give priority to this already belated birthday present for
ashtraythief who surprised me last week with a glorious timestamp for our 2013 RB collab. I created a scene based on a throw-away line in the story, so no spoilers;) The artset begins with a making of before the final reveal.
Titel:

Words: 5,700
Summary: Jeff is just looking for a one night stand. Instead, he finds Jensen.
Notes: A prequel for our 2013
spn_reversebang collaboration
Hungry. This is the beginning of Jeff’s and Jensen’s relationship, so no prior knowledge required.
Medium: It's mostly papercutting art, but I also experimented with an old set of stained-glass paint I found in the back of my arts & crafts closet. I promise the result is a little neater than the text below. :-p
Pencil set up and cutting in layers: white paper on top, black underneath
So I ended up with a black and a white paper stencil:)
Next I played with colours, this is a marker experiment on a transparent sheet
Then I tried different coloured paper as backgrounds; (The painted purple was an earlier experiment with salt;).
I used the stencil as a frame to transfer the puzzle pieces. I glued them to the background before carefully removing the stencil.
The first finished version!
The white outline stencil ended up on structured paper that I'd painted blue; I like the shadows on the image without flash (left)
For the black paper stencil I tried different coloured paper backgrounds
Then decided on using all the colours:)
Shot without a flash to include the shadows of the black layer.
Last but not least, I went back to some old arts & crafts materials: stained glass paint... Applied on a transparent sheet on top of the sketch.
Wet paint slowly turnes into a shiny, glassy layer; the image on the right is three hours later, drying time is officially 24 hours.
The final version with the black outline paper on top
(I did say it was only a little neater, right?;)
Credit: for the base of the design I used an image I found in a clickbait top 12 thingy The Best Sex Position For Your Star Sign, I saved it in my reference-collection:
Gemini-Lapdance I was unable to find out who originally made it, I edited it to fit Jeff/Jensen;)
Comments of all kind are welcome!
Go read the story! J.
P.S. I know I had announced on Twitter to post this yesterday, but the neighbour's visit lasted longer than expected when he turned out to have enough stamina to watch ALL my roadtrip-photos, brave man. *grins* I will continue my travel picspam this weekend. Be prepared!
