Yesterday, a hedgehog ran into the living room. Actually, he sort of waddled, very slowly. That was disappointing, because I was obviously expecting him to be super-fact like Sonic. We had to shoo him out with a broom so the dog wouldn't eat him ( Read more... ) -

The flight arrived in Israel about 12 hours ago; it was the first flight where I actually had to sprint through the terminal in order to board before the gates were shut. The 4-hour flight from Heathrow to Tel Aviv was, despite my welcome upgrade to business class, rather trying. I had to fart, the whole 4 hours on the plane, and couldn't. Every ( Read more... ) -
En Route
Sitting at the Admiral's Club at O'Hare, drinking a little bit. I'm quite frightened of flying; maybe a few, three gin and tonics will take the edge off. -
Pre-Flight Jitters
So, I leave tomorrow at 5 pm. First I'll fly into Heathrow, hang around for 3 hours, and then fly into Tel Aviv. Admittedly, I'm pretty anxious, and it didn't really help that like, 5 million family members showed up tonight kvetching about this and that and demanding that I teach them how to make blankets out of felt ( Read more... ) -

I have to remember to find my passport, and make sure it hasn't expired. That would probably be helpful for international travel. -
August 22
So, I leave for Israel less than two weeks, and I'll be there for a little under 2 months. Admittedly, I'm nervous, but also very excited. My plans so far are to fly in at Tel Aviv, stay with my father's family in Rehovot for a while, visit my cousin Susie and her new boyfriend, and eventually make my way up to Haifa to stay with my mother's family ( Read more... )
