Pre-Flight Jitters

Aug 21, 2007 22:41

So, I leave tomorrow at 5 pm. First I'll fly into Heathrow, hang around for 3 hours, and then fly into Tel Aviv. Admittedly, I'm pretty anxious, and it didn't really help that like, 5 million family members showed up tonight kvetching about this and that and demanding that I teach them how to make blankets out of felt.

"Oh, when are you leaving for Israel?"
"Tomorrow."
"Oh, all right. You must need to pack and stuff."
"Yeah, I still have a lot of things I need to get together."
"Oh, okay...so, show me how to make this blanket."

Blergh. Family's gone, I'm mostly packed, and I think I'm in pretty good shape for tomorrow afternoon. In anticipation of the food that won't be served on the plane, I made some trail mix, and packed a few bags of it. My laptop's equipped with a DVD player, I've got extra batteries, and I've got enough music on my  nano to satisfy me for a few months, I think. As for now, I'll try to explain to Korben Dallas, cat-face, that I'll be gone for a little while. He won't understand, of course, but I'll know that I tried. Hopefully, he won't forget about me.
