"Boy, there are customers waiting!"

"I know!" Zuko yells as he grabs another tea-tray off the counter. There are three more waiting for him, plus an extra pot for the table by the door where Miss Jin sits. Uncle is not quite rushing with another two pots, and there are still eight brews Zuko knows haven't even been made.

He needs to get rid of these tea-trays and help Uncle.

He switches the tray he's carrying to his left arm, scoops up another, glances over his shoulder to where Miss Jin is, then just grabs her teapot in his teeth.

She'll probably appreciate that. Or at least laugh rather than demand a refund.

"Boy!"

He can't open his mouth to yell back, so he settles for kicking open the partition and hopping over the counter. Without spilling a drop, thank you very much.

The Path of the Aurora

Blue fire shimmers in the sky, and Azula tilts her head back to stare. The weaving curtain of light seems to go on forever, blue and blue-green.

"It's the aurora," Katara says in wonder. "It's been so long since the spirits danced down here- I've never seen one before."

For the first time since Azula came to this place of bone-deep cold and murderous winds, she feels a chill. We did this, she thinks. We made the fires stop burning in the South.

She clutches Katara's hand as something inside her quakes.

I really like this. :) I love Katara's description of the aurora as dancing spirits. Lovely! I really like the idea that she's never seen the aurora before because the world had been out of balance. :) I also quite like Azula's reaction - presumably she's been recovering from her crazy?

I also really like that you were careful not to call it the aurora borealis, because they are, indeed, at the SOUTH pole. ;) Have you ever seen the aurora in person? It's super-cool! I've only seen it a few times, and always from within a city, so, sadly, I've never seen the full effects. :P

Airsurf Katara n Aang

Katara's screams are just a little distracting.

Aang flexes his foot to change the angle of his staff, and their descent slows. Not by much, but Katara stops yelling her head off and starts yelling at him. Most of it is curses, so he doesn't answer until she stops for breath.

"Appa will catch you if you fall," he reassures her, which sets her off yelling again for some reason.
