Ooh! I am so excited. :D

- Avatar: May I request a Dai Li? "Because I could not stop for Death,
He kindly stopped for me;
The carriage held but just ourselves
And Immortality."

- Avatar: A Water Tribester. "About the time that daddy left to fight the big war
I saw my first pistol in the general store
In the general store, when I was thirteen
I thought it was the finest thing I ever had seen"

- Matrix: An exile. Crossed wires/miscommunication.

I'll sit on my others for now.

Wow. What an effective (and affective) use of the poem. I really like that. It would seem that his final nap is probably the best rest Thanh has gotten in quite some time. *hugs him* I like that he is spiky and uses "fuck" a lot. But poor, poor Alak for being the one who finds him. I can't expect anyone will take that well.

Sorry for being so late to comment! I are a bad Neld.

That's actually one of my favorites of Emily Dickinson's poems. I am very glad it was affective, in light of that.

Thanh is one of my favorite old Dai Li characters. I really need to clean up the other fic I wrote with him and repost it. And do more stuff with him in general. But I say that about all of my OCs. (He does use "fuck" a lot. He is a master of the cluster f-bomb.

Puck: "Yeah, there was a lot of swearing when Thanh found out Kouji was an untrained earthbender."
Becca: "It's Thanh. Breakfast involves a lot of swearing.")

Avatar based, of course. Unless if there's another fandom you got OCs in we might both know...

Earth: Drain your life blood, but the spirit screams.

Fire: The sun is shining out of my eyes, it will not set tonight.

Yours:
Kajizu; This was NEVER in the job description.
Dosun; And this madness lies glory.

Mine:
Shi Kai: The Art of War should often be performance art.

Okay... I'm not quite sure what it is exactly, but something about the hefting on to the desk is really hot.

Wonderful build up. Like a reservoir slowly filling before the dam breaks.

I have to shudder the thought of Kajizu's injury. I like how she slowly builds upon Azulon's mind.

I also get the image of the boy's club just jeering about who'd be then next Seneschal.

I love the little details of Kajizu, of her hand, her voice. I really love the detail of her voice. *purrs*

Tashi wears thick boots to protect her feet from the scorching sands of the Si Wong Desert. She wears a jilbab that covers her from throat to ankle, pale as the desert sand and decorated with currents of air. She embroidered it herself, making the clothing that shielded her from the merciless sun lovely.

She wears a sand-pale headscarf to cover her hair so that not a bit of it can be seen. Under the scarf, she wears her dowry - gold and silver, fine stones and charms woven from wool taken from the pony-goats that belong to her.

Across her face, she wears a fine orange veil. It is the only thing of color that any one can see. Her mother scolds her, her sisters disapprove, her brothers argue. She will never find a husband with such brazenness, such attention-drawing. Men will take her for a whore.

Her father says nothing.

The djinn sweeps into her father's tent, his clothes the orange of a people long dead. He dresses as all men of the desert must dress, but his skin is too pale, his eyes too fiery.

He is not of the desert ( ... )

Mama and Dad sometimes forget that just because Mikka never formally learned how to fight doesn't mean he can't. After all, he's been helping Mama and Aunt Ty Lee teach the young Kyoshi Warriors for as long as he's been able to walk, and he's been helping Dad teach Shan how to use a sword since his little brother could walk.

He's not Hitozi, who might as well be a weapon, but he's no slouch.

Most people are, though. Especially 'benders.

Mikka spits blood on the ground and ignores the look of horror on Aunt Katara's face. She's lucky he only chi-blocked her. There were a lot nastier things he'd figured out how to do with Aunt Ty Lee's techniques.

"You're in my way," he says, and her eyes flick to the hatchet in his left hand.

"Mikka, you're not going to kill these people," she says firmly, like he's a child who will listen to his dad's sister just because.

"Oh yes, I am." He's going to kill them because their fathers killed his girlfriend, hurt Takao, burned his village. Because their fathers couldn't let the war go"This'll make ( ... )

As a note, a lot of my Matrix-based OCs are from an RPG called Degrees of Separation. So sometimes things are weird. The Queen of the Unseelie Court bears scars from her deal. She, like her husband, like all of her people, were deleted long ago. They hovered in the spaces between the Matrix and dissolution, in a holding pattern that should have been dumped ( ... )

That sounds cool! Sounds like a world of darkness-esque setting, but in the matrix.

So... the Unseelie court was deleted, but the garbage collection process was unable to completely remove their runtime executables from physical storage? Was it like a bad segment or disk error in one of the Machine mainframes that prevented them from writing to where their data was stored?

We had a lot of weird Exiled programs in that game. The GM let us get away with a lot if we could justify them. (Oh, my orcs. I love my orcs.)

About the only real answer I have to that is "the Sheol campaign was really kriffing cool". We kind of hand-waved what exactly the glitch was that made the program that was supposed to dump it not dump it.

If it would fit what you're looking for and if you'd feel up to it, I'd love to see your take on Kylie Gibney in the Evo-verse. And for inspiration, Pink's Don't Let Me Get Me.

"Hey."

Kylie lifted her head from the bed to glare at her twin brother. He looked just like her - more masculine face, sure, but they had the same long blond(e) hair, the same eyes, the same toothy smiles and heavy dark claws on the ends of their hands. Young Sabretooths.

"What the hell are you doing here, Kyle?" She growled. "I thought you were up in Canuckistan."

"Was," he said agreeably, dropping a bag that smelled of grease and charred meat on her nightstand. "Swung by the batter-fried burger place you like, got you some dinner."

Her stomach rumbled, and she upped the glare she turned on him. "What's this for?" She demanded even as she reached for the bag and tore it open. Around a mouthful of burger, she added, "What happened, your boyfriend kick you out ( ... )
