Work messed up my posting spree! So I'm backdating an entry or two. DX Dang. Only one week in and I fail. :p So here we go:
Sharing is Caring! for one week, recommend/share:

Alright, can't do just one so... My book/manga/fanfic recs lie ahead. ^_^
Books. As squidgeesushiknows, my all-time favorite author is Timothy Zahn. If you're into Star Wars then I recommend you read his Thrawn trilogy (Heir to the Empire, Dark Force Rising, The Last Command) and his follow-up duology to that years later - Specter of the Past and Vision of the Future.
He created my favorite character ever - MARA JADE. She's awesome.
Now, if you're not an SW fan, don't fret. Zahn does extremely entertaining science fiction books and short stories as well. My current favorite is The Green and the Gray, but I'm also an avid fan of Night Train to Rigel and the rest of the Quadrail series. So far there are only 3 books, but he has to be making more... there's still so much to be done. O_O
His short stories are a bit more like your typical science fiction. Definitely the sort of thing that makes you think. Time Bomb and Zahndry Others is one anthology that I had to snatch up. Zahn's stories make you think, but they're not as heavy as the works of Asimov... I don't know what exactly it is, but I feel like Zahn's writing is... warmer for lack of a better term. And more casual... I actually enjoy reading his stuff while a lot of other sci-fi authors bore me.
Now - MANGA!
There's always the big shounen three... XD No, not going to rec them (though Bleach and Naruto manga is superior to the anime). I'm going for SHOUJO! My favorite manga of all is Fruits Basket. I know I've extolled the virtues of Furuba before, but hey - this is all for a meme. ;) To make it short though - READ FB! IT'S AWESOME AND FULL OF JOY, SORROW, LAUGHTER, AND INTRIGUE. And drama. Lots of drama. Uotani and Hanajima ROCK.
My second favorite manga right now is Wild Ones (aka Arakure). It's not the most original story, but I like the art style (Fujiwara draws the most beautiful eyes in my opinion... very delicate cross-hatching) and it's funny. Sachie Wakamura lost her mother and unexpectedly the grandfather she never knew shows up to take care of her. Next thing she knows she's living with a bunch of yakuza and has been assigned a bodyguard who's her age. She's always getting into trouble and Rakuto bails her out constantly. :P They're so cute together. Oh and his behavior as a bodyguard causes the whole school to believe that she's a princess rather than the daughter of a yakuza boss. And it's only 10 volumes long. (I'm still waiting for the last 3 to be released in the States)

Ok, there are soooooo many to choose from here. Egad... I just started opening links to fav'd stories and I have far too many. So by fandom...
Harry Potter:
The Twenty by Leyna Rountree - SSHG Complete at 25 chapters and 300k+ words it's a very long, VERY INTERESTING read. And Hermione is awesome in it. (I was rather disappointed with her in Deathly Hallows).
Gundam Wing:
Mutually Assured Destruction by Tynan - prank war to end all prank wars... Gundam pilots vs GWing girls... XD INCOMPLETE (but supposedly he's working on the final chapters)
Quality Television by Mistress Amethyst Une - "It's hard to be proud considering I said nipples at a televised ESUN assembly." With Relena saying something like this, I had to read the rest. >:D And it is hilarious. MAU has a ton of one-shot GWing fics that are well-worth reading so be sure to check out her page. Though omnicatalready knows this and she's probably my only GWing FListee.

The Avatar Snare by Jai-kun - what if an act of mercy and near-death experience caused Azula to change for the better? An Azula-turned-good fic that's actually WORTH reading
Star Trek:
Diplomacy by Khiori - for all Saavik fans. Just a short fic. ^_^
Naruto:
Team 8 by S'Tarkan - incomplete, but AWESOME. What if Naruto was on a team that actually cared about him, with a sensei who actually TRAINED her genin.
The Day the Smile Slipped by Manatheron - Naruto's happy facade breaks one day...
I'm sorry to say I haven't been reading new fanfics in a lot of my fandoms so most of these are older... and certainly a few are ones I've mentioned before. Oh and this barely even scratches the surface of my favorited fics. :P And I only listed ones on ff.net because I didn't feel like searching for the other random ones spread around the internet. XD
