So for today's evening update I'm starting the meme that
omnicat was so kind to suggest when I mentioned that I'd be posting something daily. ^_^
Sharing is Caring! for one week, recommend/share:
Day one: a song a few songs
Day two: a picture
Day three: a book/ebook/fanfic
Day four: a site
Day five: a youtube clip
Day six : a quote
Day seven : whatever tickles your fancy
So today's rec is a song... I've mentioned a few lately in my journal and on facebook... some from The Autumn Film. I love Tifah Al-Atas's voice. ^_^ But today I'm going to pick something different. If you've been stalking my journal long, you'll know that I'm fairly indecisive. :P The idea of recommending one song is difficult for me especially since I listen to so many different kinds of music.
So we have three categories:
- Instrumental - focusing on Celtic songs today. ;) You'll see them if you check out the vids below.
- Christian - I had a hard time picking which one to share... Almost went with Brandon Heath's Wait and See, but I finally decided on Shane & Shane's Burn Us Up
- Secular - now this one's a bit different... it's not often that I just fall in love with a country song. I used to like the genre, but kind of "grew" out of it. :P But this song was iTunes free song of the week a few weeks back and it's just so beautiful and sad... I can definitely understand this one. So for this I pick Mallory Hope's Love Lives On
Granuaile's Dance - Máiréad Nesbitt is the fiddler. She's so freaking bouncy! How can she even keep the bow on the violin jumping around like she does. O_O (You can download the .m4a by clicking on the song title if your system can play that)

Máiréad Nesbitt in Lord of the Dance - I had to add this one as well!!! This little fiddler is just amazing. LofD was the first show I saw her in (and I used to have the CD but I think someone stole it freshman year. TT-TT ) I WANT TO PLAY LIKE THAT. This one's a bit more lively than Granuaile's Dance - think of it as Celtic Dueling Violins - so much better than Dueling Banjos!

Shane & Shane's Burn Us Up (low quality vid, but it's solely for the music)

Alright, now for the country song. It's about the loss of a loved one... something I can understand (though for me it was a parent, not a husband) and it really hits home for me considering the time of year. Even though they're gone, you don't forget. Anyways, the song says it better than I can.
