One of the goals we have for our house, whether we stay in this one or end up moving, is to remove all of the carpet and put in hard surfaces.  Currently we have ceramic tile in the kitchen, dining room, front entryway, and bathrooms, and we have laminate in the kids' bedrooms.  Someday soon we want to rip out the carpet in the living room, hallway ( Read more... )

What's messed up about this argument - saying, essentially, "I wish my mom had sacrificed MY life so that her life could have been better." - wouldn't the opposite be true?  What if mom sacrifices HER life so ( Read more... )

A question on facebook this morning - "Do you support gay marriage?" got me thinking:

No, I really don't support gay marriage.  To me, those two words just don't go together.

I have a hard time distinguishing in my mind between marriage as a covenant between a man and a woman that was ordained by God, and marriage as a contract sanctioned by a state/ ( Read more... )
