I am TEAM ARTHUR and therefore I think he has so many things on his plate right now that he just needs to take a step back and think about HIM. I am an Arthur/Eames shipper but I am not an "A/E OR NOTHING AT ALLL!" person. Out of the three choices, I don't know that ANY of them are very right for him (even though he obviously has the biggest connection with Eames, right now). Cho is just getting out of a very long-term relationship, Balal is being lied to and doesn't seem the type to WANT to be involved with a gangster (safety of his child is paramount for him, as with most parents), and Eames is Arthur's best friend's "kept man" right now, tied to Dom for the physical therapy assistance if nothing else. Eames is an independent person and while there is definite lust between the two, I don't know that there is love strong enough to sustain them. Arthur would be giving up his best friend and his entire life if he ran off with Eames. While Arthur and Dom clearly have different trust issues, they are still (pardon the pun) thick as
( ... )
oh my god, you're comment, ahahaaa. you gave me my first good giggle of the day, and i thank you, i needed it =)
btw, baubel, i love your polls.
i am one of those hardcore all or nothing shippers but, the way you've written your characters, it doesn't seem plausible nor healthy for anyone if they ended up together (though i hope they do, i really, really, really really do).
i'm not even sure how arthur really feels about eames. yes, he wants him, desires him but let's be frank, he seems to want a deeper and more binding relationship with cho. then again it could be because he knows there is little chance of eames being a part of his life for the long term and hasn't allowed himself to even hope or think of future with eames.
balal seems like nothing more a convenient outlet, though he does seem to like him well enough. sigh, arthur is a tough nut to crack and i haven't the foggiest idea as to how this will end or if a happy ending is possible. have i told you how much i love this verse, because i totally do.
Yes, all of Arthur's options seem fraught with danger and complications, don't they? Every single one of his possible romantic relationships have some big stumbling block that may or may not be surmountable.
I'm glad you like Mal in this story! I always enjoy writing her in all her complexity :)
Also: LOL at your comments on were-unicorns! The babies are fearsome beasts, indeed!
TEAM BALAL because Balal is the best and is probably pulling a long con himself. Or is completely an innocent bystander and will TEACH ARTHUR HOW TO ~LOVE AGAIN. Or his tears and righteous anger will be so delicious when Arthur destructively ends up with Eames and/or flees the country.
I am so happy that people really responded to and care about Balal. I originally envisioned him as a one-off character but ended up really loving the way he and Arthur interacted, and so his part grew :)
I can't tell you what will happen with Balal (that would be spoiling it the surprise, of course) but I can tell you he will have a role to play in the ending :)
i cannot fill out this poll because you made a mistake: THESE SHOULD BE CHECKBOXES NOT RADIO BUTTONS. I am on Team Arthur-gets-all-the-boys-at-once and Team All-the-Ladies and Kittens and Puppies and Wereunicorns should have a big playdate. So the answer is simply YES. btw Gangstermoll is one of my absolute fav fav favs fic in this fandom. ♥
If only this were a universe where the answer could be: 4 way orgy with Arthur in the middle and happily ever after! Alas, it is not. So radio buttons it is :(
i, too, am not a fan of non check boxes. balal is the bees knees to me though, so...i guess i'll go that way. but if i could've picked all three, I WOULD'VE PICKED ALL THREE.
I love Balal and I feel if this was an original story I would be screaming at Arthur to stop playing with Balal's feelings ): but alas the OTP is strong. So strong.
Thus the deluded fangirl says: he and Eames should totally escape to a private island together. And sometimes visit paris.

Arthur is a difficult and complex character, isn't he? One of his biggest problems is that he doesn't even know how he feels about a lot of things.
Thank you for the thoughtful comment, and I'm happy you're still enjoying the story!
