I am TEAM ARTHUR and therefore I think he has so many things on his plate right now that he just needs to take a step back and think about HIM. I am an Arthur/Eames shipper but I am not an "A/E OR NOTHING AT ALLL!" person. Out of the three choices, I don't know that ANY of them are very right for him (even though he obviously has the biggest connection with Eames, right now). Cho is just getting out of a very long-term relationship, Balal is being lied to and doesn't seem the type to WANT to be involved with a gangster (safety of his child is paramount for him, as with most parents), and Eames is Arthur's best friend's "kept man" right now, tied to Dom for the physical therapy assistance if nothing else. Eames is an independent person and while there is definite lust between the two, I don't know that there is love strong enough to sustain them. Arthur would be giving up his best friend and his entire life if he ran off with Eames. While Arthur and Dom clearly have different trust issues, they are still (pardon the pun) thick as thieves.
Also -- Yusuf and Eames? I'm watching you two *points middle and index fingers at her eyes* *flips them to point at them* *flips again to point back at her eyes*
Team Mal because GUH I have suuuuuuuch a soft spot for fleshed-out Mal characterisations and this one is among my top five favourites <3
I would like to stipulate that the only reason I am NOT Team Were-unicorns is that, from the other two choices, I would assume these would be baby were-unicorns and there is nothing scarier to me than an animal with a spear attached to its forehead who is naturally inclined to want to EAT ME who stumbles around and pounces on anything that moves.
For some reason, this is scarier to me than an adult were-unicorn who is trained in the art of hunting ... though it probably has something to do with the fact that if I'm to be Eaten Alive, I would prefer it to be at the hands of a skillful "warrior" rather than a bumbling amateur :D
oh my god, you're comment, ahahaaa. you gave me my first good giggle of the day, and i thank you, i needed it =)
btw, baubel, i love your polls.
i am one of those hardcore all or nothing shippers but, the way you've written your characters, it doesn't seem plausible nor healthy for anyone if they ended up together (though i hope they do, i really, really, really really do).
i'm not even sure how arthur really feels about eames. yes, he wants him, desires him but let's be frank, he seems to want a deeper and more binding relationship with cho. then again it could be because he knows there is little chance of eames being a part of his life for the long term and hasn't allowed himself to even hope or think of future with eames.
balal seems like nothing more a convenient outlet, though he does seem to like him well enough. sigh, arthur is a tough nut to crack and i haven't the foggiest idea as to how this will end or if a happy ending is possible. have i told you how much i love this verse, because i totally do.
Yes, all of Arthur's options seem fraught with danger and complications, don't they? Every single one of his possible romantic relationships have some big stumbling block that may or may not be surmountable.
I'm glad you like Mal in this story! I always enjoy writing her in all her complexity :)
Also: LOL at your comments on were-unicorns! The babies are fearsome beasts, indeed!

Arthur is a difficult and complex character, isn't he? One of his biggest problems is that he doesn't even know how he feels about a lot of things.
Thank you for the thoughtful comment, and I'm happy you're still enjoying the story!
