I have an alcove that I need to keep my cat out of for an undetermined amount of time, but maybe a few weeks or a month or two. Has anyone used those Topsy Turvy tomato planters? I have a smallish balcony, but lots of sunlight. Yet I haven't had a lot of luck growing tomatoes, probably because I haven't found a good place to put the big pot where I grow them. Every night for the past week, I've seen a large "star" in the sky that seems too big and too bright to be a real star. So I'm figuring it's a planet, but which one is it? It's more yellowish than the other stars, but not exactly reddish, so my thought is it's probably not Mars ( Read more... )

I belong to an online group of cat lovers, and this is the story of a rescue kitty one of our members tried to save. ( It's a touching story that has a sad ending. )

Apparently, Europeans celebrate Pi day on July 22 - guess why? :)
