Sadly yes. I spoke to the box office straight away and they said it was booked and over subscribed so they weren't even putting people on the reserve list. Official website might get one or two to make available but it'll be pot luck I guess who gets them. I doubt there will be many and theres loads of members.

It's my understanding that tickets for all the Friday Night Is Musica Nights are long gone befor the BBC orchestra has even picked the guest singers. All is not lost though, John's official site says they will be offering tickets soon and to be patient. Its hard but i'm trying lol can't wait.

BBC ticket place told me the tickets are made available about a month before the show is due to broadcast and go within about an hour of being announced. I asked her some very specific questions about the arrangements. Some are invitation so how many actually are available to the public is another matter. Don't hold your breath on the site though - its got over 1000 members and if they get hold of more than about 20 I'll be surprised.

Still at least its on the radio so we don't totally miss out :)

Yes, it's very disappointing about the tickets. My friends and I are all gutted as we'd been eagerly anticipating this concert for ages. Well, we'd guessed he was bound to do one, ever since it was announced that he'd be recording a new album, as it was obvious he'd probably do a concert to promote it, lol! We then had it confirmed to us a couple of weeks ago, from Daniel Boys, after we met him in a bar after a show in London. He told us he was doing a concert with John (and Kerry Ellis) and told us the date and venue. One of our friends tried to book via the venue the very next day but was told that they don't deal with any concert bookings themselves. We didn't mention anywhere about what Daniel told us, as we weren't sure if he might have said it in confidence or not, as there hadn't been any official announcement of the gig at the point, as far as we were aware, and we thought there was bound to be one soon anyway. So we've just been waiting for an announcement and then, when there is, we learn the tickets are all gone anyway! ( ... )

Totally agree. Very annoying and somewhat surprising John isn't doing one his fans can attend, although I guess he thinks widespread radio coveage is maybe a better bet to get non fans to maybe buy it.

I saw Daniel in I love you because a couple of weeks ago and going again in a couple of weeks. Not sure its got the legs to transfer to the West End myself but really enjoyed it all the same. Acoustics not so good though.

I was disappointed that the official site and group didn't get the usual heads up for this gig, but I presume it was for reasons beyond their control. I suppose those who managed to get that information in time to buy tickets kept it to themselves! :-(

I'm holding out for whatever draw or lottery will be used for allocating the few tickets the group might get, but it's a shame it wasn't advertised publically well before sales - then we'd all have an equal chance!

The tickets weren't on sale. They are free and are allocated by BBC Studio Audiences to people who want them. As far as I can see NOONE either on the official group or part of the wider Torchwood fandom has managed to get tickets so it wasn't a question of a few mean spirited folk keeping the news to themselves. The tickets would have been issued to anyone who wanted them long before John's appearance was announced anywhere ( ... )

I agree - we're the ones who'll buy his album! :-) Oh well.

I didn't realise that these were give-aways. I also noticed that the official listmaster was prompted into making the announcement after it had been mentioned by someone else on the list! :-)

I and a number of other people emailed the webmaster as soon as we heard to find out what had happened. I think this is what prompted his announcement. Clearly a hiccup in the system somewhere. I don't think anyone thinks anyone's been mean spirited.

Yes they were free through the BBC in the usual way.
