I try not to harp too much on gender issues, but SERIOUSLY. Five people in Peter's little pow-wow at the end, and not one chick to be seen? Whatever, show. INORITE?! I was thinking the exact same thing. This is one of the many reasons why I want Molly and Monica to show up again. The uneven ration between men and women on this show is still one of the issues that really bothers me, but I'll wait and see what happens, because I'm 100% positive that Daphne isn't dead. And ITA with what you said about wanting Brea to become a regular!
Though unlike Maya and Alejandro, Sylar's not actually hiding much of anything from Luke, and the kid's ready and willing to follow him around without any tricks. Yes, that's what I like about it! Even though the whole idea of Sylar going on yet another road trip initially bugged me, I like how the events in Volume 3 - as lame as they were - led to Sylar acting the way he is now. "I let you survive - kinda a big deal for me", (not verbatim) was both hilarious and very telling. I'll have to re-watch

YES. I mean, I'd even love for Audrey to come back, or characters like Sandra to get bigger roles (like she had last volume), or...SOMETHING. It's just really, really irking me that they HAVE all these interesting and/or strong female characters around, but they just...don't use them. Or write them off, and end up making the heroics a No Girls Allowed club. I'd like to think it's not intentional, but it's still depressing. :/
I also think it'll be interesting to see him and Sylar bond, and it would be a twist if Sylar doesn't end up killing him.I'm already expecting Luke to die within a few episodes (the odds sure as hell aren't in his favour), but...yeah, if it's done in a believable way, I think it'd be really interesting if he and Sylar had a bit of messed-up and hilarious bonding going on. The kid's definitely in over his head, and he'll probably

. I'm curious to see if he actually gets attached to the kid in a way that halfway believable or sympathetic. It's one thing if Sylar kills him - that's practically the default outcome, really - but if it's someone else who breaks Sylar's toy... There's at least some pissed-off serial killer whup-ass to look forward to.
SAME! That is exactly what I'm hoping for, that Sylar gets attached to the kid and then someone kills him and he FREAKS OUT. It would be awesome.
If Daphne is actually dead, I'll smack Kring. Hard.
YES. I mean, if Luke's chances of survival are practically zero to begin with, his inevitable death might as well contribute to something AWESOME, like watching Sylar go absolutely batshit on whoever's responsible. It wouldn't be the nuclear freak-out that future!Gabriel had when Noah Jr. was killed, but still. Fucking with someone Sylar likes (or at least, feels possessive about) is NOT a place you want to be.
DAPHNE CAN NOT BE DEAD. D: SHE JUST CAN'T. FOR SERIOUS, KRING.
I've always kind of wanted to see Sylar take a protege - not a Maya-type protege, who he was attempting to turn dark by manipulation and force, but a young somebody who's already kind of twisted and evil, and this desire includes his pupil dying and inciting epic rage. And this has the potential to be TRULY AWESOME like that, which is why Luke will probably die next Monday.

If he survives next week's episode, I'll be AMAZED. Pleasantly so, but still. A few episodes of plot-relevant bonding followed by EPIC RAGE would be awesome. Which is exactly why it's probably not going to happen, and poor Luke probably won't live long enough to matter to anyone, least of all Sylar. :/
$10 says Douchebag Hunter Guy caps the kid next time they try to take Sylar down.
Now we can say it: obviously were the powers that made Peter an idiot. If this volume led to S1 terrorist!Peter, I'll love him, I promise.
"OMG HE'S JUST LIKE GABRIEL!!!"
NOT GABRIEL, never Gabriel... Luke is a sadistic troubled teen-ager who experimented his microwave power on the pacemakers, (this sadistic side remember me of S2!Elle, actually). I can't see Gabriel as a problematic teenager and he certainly never had a fistfight (we know that because we saw Sylar being a fail at that, and I'm not speaking just of HRG in volume 3... even Peter in the S1 finale beat him) Luke is (other than a convenient new plot device for sylar storyline) a mini!Sylar , maybe, but not Gabriel! :D
I'm sure Daphne is not dead, but really, the gender thing is a little annoying. 4 women in the show: 1 is dead (or so it seems), 1 has been captured, 1 is benched/grounded and we barely saw the 4th. *sighs*
I didn't mean he was specifically like Gabriel Gray would have been as a teenager. (Though after all the retcon in volume 3, it's hard to tell WHAT the writer's intentions are these days.) Still. Even if teenage Gabriel was never that violent, that doesn't mean they don't have anything in common. Luke's unhappy, alienated, angry, friendless, and in the same family situation that Sylar had growing up. Add the power discovery and violent streak, and there's things for him to relate to on BOTH sides of the Sylar/Gabriel spectrum. Or at least, there's things Sylar recognises and knows how to manipulate. (Though I guess he didn't count on the kid getting Stockholm Syndrome, LOL.)
Yeah, Luke's probably just going to be a plot device to find Sylar's biodad, and he'll probably die within an episode or two. I'm mostly just hoping he'll be interesting while he lasts, and for some decent interaction between he and Sylar along the way.
