In the midst of the ongoing budget battle in Madison, one of the things missing is an analysis of how Gov. Walker's "Budget Repair Bill" will affect Wisconsin, Assembly district by Assembly district. I have a lovely new computer...
...that happens to make phone calls. Yes, it is a Droid (an HTC Incredible or some such like). It appears to be smarter than me. I'm still figuring out everything that it does. There have been a couple of interesting essays written recently, one taken from a speech by Urvashi Vaid and another by Lisa Weiner-Mahfuz. Both correctly criticize the current lesbian and gay political and social movements for leaving out people of color, and yet both make the mistake of lumping bisexuals and transgender people in with lesbians ( Read more... ) -
Paul Cornell's a fine fellow
It's interesting to read Paul Cornell's commentary about Convergence - in a very real way, he makes it clear that it is the convention that I wanted Minicon to be, a decade or so ago. Manitowoc
Just got back from a day trip to Manitowoc, Wiscowsin. Had breakfast with my friend T., and then we went and explored for a little while. Took advantage of my YMCA membership to work out, and spent the balance of the afternoon exploring the Wiscowsin Maritime Museum.
