The overwhelming badness of titles and summaries.

So I went through the first page (or so) of each section. It hurts, especially in Sons of Anarchy. Beware the stare of Mary Shaw Mary Sue.

Of angsty Tigs and limp Sams... )

supernatural, glee, sons of anarchy

Are you offended that I called her that, or that I broke the rules?

Regardless, I've already fixed it.

Why does it matter why someone is offended? Calling someone a slut =/= Not good.

You used a double negative. "Calling someone a slut does not equal Not good". So it does equal good?

Just saying.

And calling Santana that doesn't offend me, because it describes her behavior. Would it be better if I called her "a loose floozy" or "a woman with less morals than society approves of"?

Rule 15 reads, in part, "Do not use language (in your commentary or in your comments on posts) that is sexist, racist, ableist, homophobic, or otherwise hurtful."

"Slut" is a misogynistic word used to shame and put down sexually active women. As such, it is not appropriate. Please remove it from your post. Thank you.

Fixed.

Considering Santana, though, my choice of word still stands. *pets the girl* She can't help who she is, and we all love her for it.

Okay, de-modding for this, because I'm speaking as a member and not as a mod.

Your choice of word is slut-shaming. Slut-shaming is a societal, cultural problem, in which women who are or appear to be sexually active are subjected to put-downs and shame based on their sexuality. "Slut" is not a reclaimed word yet, especially not when used from one person to another. It would be self-derogatory to call myself a slut, because it's a word with heavy connotations. It would be even worse to call another woman a slut, because that's objectifying and shaming her, and that is not cool. It's similar to men calling each other "pussy" or "faggot"; in those cases, it says a man is not "manly" enough and that it's Very Bad to have feminine traits or be gay. In the case of "slut", it's that it's bad for women to have sex.

So no, your choice of word does not stand, unless you intend to objectify and put down Santana and women who, like her, are sexually active. I would go so far as to say your choice of wording is hurtful and wrong.

I'm sure this will be misconstrued somehow... wanderingworlds September 4 2010, 23:30:22 UTC
I use the choice of "slut" because Santana (and Brittany) have openly competed to have had sex with most of the student body. Now, I'm not entirely sure if whether they were involved with guys while those guys were already in committed relationships, but it wouldn't surprise me. Also, Santana basically seduced Finn just to take his virginity, under the pretense that it'd help him get back at Rachel for dating Jesse by making her jealous. I don't know Santana's background, because as a fictional character the show hasn't brought that forward, so maybe there is a reason for how she acts. As far as I'm concerned, though, until that point, she's used sex to get power over the male population and manipulates people to get what she wants ( ... )

Based on Nickelback's Song: Figured You Out.

You had me at Nickleback. Anyone who bases a story of that crap band needs to be labeled a permanent badfic author and banned from writing anything fic related ever again. My god.

What's wrong with Nickelback?

Honestly? In my opinion, it's overproduced, unoriginal and boring music.

I laughed most at the summary about Sam being "thrown into a lake." Probably just the stupidity of the whole concept.

And as horrible as it sounds, I almost kind of want to torture myself with Supernatural the Musical... Pray for my soul.

I want to know how he got to the lake, and who picked up his ginormous self to throw him in.

Maybe Lucifer decided he was too dirty and needed a bath?

I'm praying for you. But it won't do any good, considering if there was a Musical episode, it'd be my favourite.
