002 - Near - [Audio] - Please bear with him and his tl;dr

[A week of waiting had been enough. Near had see how the epidemic had subsided just as quickly as it had come, and all over the course of exactly one week, just as he was told. The event itself paved way for other advantages as well. Near did not have to worry about any sort of physical threats due to everyone else falling ill, and since those who ( Read more... )

Oh, oh! I know this!! Wait, I'm not sure about the quadrant though. It's pretty generic though. The ship's controls are a bit funny but it shouldn't take me long to figure it out. Why?

This new environment is unsettling. I would like to get acquainted with it. [He says this ever so blandly.]

The ships controls? You mean to tell me that you are piloting this ship?

No. [There's a sound of a pout here.] I'm locked out.

[Oh, there was an adult talking from the box. Dende knew to always answer to adults!]

Um hello, my name is Dende!

[a polite bow]

Um... I guess I'm not normal... in case of human standards...

[...he "guesses"?]

and um... I've been told that I was here before... but I don't remember it...

[He actually still sounds like a kid, but an older one I suppose. xD]

It's a pleasure to meet you, Dende. My name is Near.

Have you been told when was the last time you were here prior to your original departure? Also, what sets you apart from normal humans?

[He sounds older and authoratative=adult XD]

N-no.... I wasn't, but a lot of people seem to recognize me. I sure if you asked, others would know I think.

[Dende giggles at the last statement]

Well because I'm not human silly!

[You giggled and called Near silly. He temporarily brainbroked.]

I've been here for quite some time. It was late winter when I left home, and early summer here when I arrived. Now it's early spring. Three seasons, then.

[He tugs his beard in thought.]

I'm not sure what else you need to know, but I'll be happy to be of assistance.

Yes. I did notice that the Author has control over time. Thank you for confirming it.

[The previous summer seems to be about as early as anyone here can recall. It's a starting point.]

Since you have been here for awhile, I would like to ask about these plots that I've been told occur every one to three weeks. Has anyone ever noticed any pattern or repetition among the plots? Do they always start on Mondays and end on Sundays based on the manor's calendar system?

I think so. They all start on Mondays and go to the next week. It's the only pattern I've noticed so far. There's no real relevance to the order of plots.

I was afraid not.

[Cue hair twirl of disappointment.]

Are you able to recall the types of plots that have occurred at the manor as far back as you can remember?

What is considered average? After all in some worlds average might be something different.

But I can help you with anything that you need. I really need need to start getting my mind focused.

Anything that cannot be accomplished with your hands and legs alone would be a starting point. Powers such as mind-reading, telekineses, object materialization, flight, for instance, would be considered unnatural in my world. Superhuman strength would also count. If you can lift multiple times your weight, I would regard it as significant.

I have Innocence. That isn't natural I guess.

[Is this a joke? No, the person does not sound like he is trying to make fun of him. Perhaps the word isn't what he's used to.]

Define "Innocence" please.

...I'm pretty sure the guy making the maps got written out- but I can make a copy of mine- I'm not too terrible at drawing, I don't think.

I've been here since August and it's April now- so... eight months. [she's not even questioning her math- she's good at it, after all.]

Oh! If you want to know about the Author then you should talk to Saguru-kun. He should be in room thirty-one.

I have acquired one, already, thank you. But if you would like to send me your own copy anyway, I will gladly accept it.

Saguru the detective? [Yes, he remembers Kudo mentioning him, and this girl is referring to him with -kun.]

So he is from your world too I assume?

H-hai... we go to school together- well, when he's not off in London, that is.

[The Author seems to have some strange affinity for detectives and those related to them then. This would make sense considering she is looking for interesting characters for what she considers interesting plots.]

I see. You recommended that I speak with him with questions regarding the Author. Why is that? Has he managed to contact the Author directly before?
