I was afraid I'd miss this, what with being absentee since early last weekend.
You not only did it, but you did it well. Kurt's feelings for Finn were so naked early in S1, and so complicated by the unintentional rival introduced by their parents' situation.
He lay on his bed with copious tears sliding down his temples as he imagined a world that went on forever, just like this. It was one where he wanted what he could not have, and the whole rest of the cast of characters just stood idly by, smiling and living their completely oblivious lives. This is such a perfect summary of any one-sided love, and the incredible ache it causes.
I have no idea if I'm being spoiled for the finale here, but doesn't matter. Hoping to watch it soon!
There are some spoilers, and some just random made up stuff in there. Like I made Jesse gay, even though I don't think they intend for him to be (but Jon Groff is, so you know. Literary license, what have you).
Are you caught up on the aired episodes? There are two more new ones before the end of the season, so 1x20 aired last night.
I really like Kurt, and Finn, and Jesse. It was kinda fun. :D I think slash wouldn't bother me as much if the characters were gay (in my opinion), so Kurt is easier to write than I thought he'd be.
I'm caught up to 1x19, because Lauren had hijacked the TV for American Idol and I was too late to program the DVR for Glee (Christopher's band concert ate my evening).
A lot of slash is kind of "writing behind the scenes," where even a character who doesn't seem gay succumbs to a fatal attraction to someone unexpected (which is part of the allure, really). It's kind of like writing an unconventional hetero-ship where canon is banging on a different Michael/Sara drum, or writing any kind of hate-sex dynamic (because normally the characters wouldn't-- they don't even like each other!-- but maybe those high emotions turn to a different direction). Making it believable, regardless, is always the challenge and the thrill
