Okay, first... i love this comm. I just joined and instantly wondered "where have you been all my life." this may be my first, but is certainly not to be my last post.

Okay, so I've found Trip Advisor to be a useful site for reading and writing reviews of places i've been, especially here in Orlando where you are just as likely to get a really ( Read more... )

annoying formatting is annoying, op *obviously* smarter than us all, no one cares it's your first time, bar/public house, bitter: party of you, defensive much?

*whistle* butthurt, party of one.

(them, obv).

Out of interest, by 'cider' do you mean what the Americans call cider (British apple juice) or what the British call cider ('hard cider')?

Gonna hop in here and say it is the "hard cider". Stuff like Strongbow and Magners is alcohol.

kk.

I was confused because the OP is in the US, but mentioned her husband being a British expat.

Afraid I have to jump on the "you overreacted" bandwagon. Your review was fine, but unless you know for sure that this was the owner or some other employee who contacted you, your response was slightly out of line.

Hmmm. I'll say the OP definitely over-reacted here--and *why* did she automatically presume that the response was from the *owner* responding to the review, and not just some other reviewer disagreeing with her and offering advice (much as is done on little, lesser-known places like, oh, Livejournal.. ;-) )?

On TripAdvisor you have to be flagged as owner/manager and it says so on the review. And it shows as a public comment back to the poster so "XXXXName/owner (or manager)" and then the comment to the poster.

I highly doubt this was the owner/manager. And just b/c the owner is a woman doesn't make her the person that comments.

I like how in your review you call it "reasonably" authentic, but here you say it's an ok place if you're not too concerned about authenticity. Lol
