Gosh, how dare I review something??

Okay, first... i love this comm. I just joined and instantly wondered "where have you been all my life." this may be my first, but is certainly not to be my last post.

Okay, so I've found Trip Advisor to be a useful site for reading and writing reviews of places i've been, especially here in Orlando where you are just as likely to get a really ( Read more... )

annoying formatting is annoying, op *obviously* smarter than us all, no one cares it's your first time, bar/public house, bitter: party of you, defensive much?

I'm guessing that as an Irish pub they use the imperial measurements, in which case a pint is 20 oz.

I don't understand - Was it definately a reply from the pub or could it have been from someone else? Some people can be defensive of their local.

Edited for clarity.

I was wondering this same thing. Yea her name is "Irish Girl" but it's not like anything says "Owner of Claddagh". And I just looked at the Trip Advisor website for her name and her profile doesn't say anything that leads me to believe she's the owner. Maybe the OP can clarify what indicates she's the owner of the pub instead of a regular user trying to give some helpful hints?

I hope so, too. I do suspect that the OP might have over reacted ...

Agreed. I am not sure what led the OP to such an assumption, but I imagine Irish Girl is pretty confused right about now, lol.

I wouldn't jump to assumption that the person who messaged you was the owner of the place. It is very possible that it was just some one who was a fan of the place, that for some reason felt the need to defend it, which happens more than you think.

^ Agreed, about the fact that the reply wasn't necessarily from the owner (and, actually, is very likely not). It seems more probable that it's just someone who frequents that particular place.

Even if it were the owner, actually, it doesn't seem too terribly rude. Not to the extent that justifies refusal to return.

Not gonna lie, I didn't read your review, but I don't really think that response was OMG RUDE. I'm sure, like you said, you're used to the default "Sorry you had a bad experience, etc..." But it's not as if the person said "LISTEN WE HAVE THE CHEAPEST SHIT IN TOWN, SO DO YOUR RESEARCH!"

I think the beer being flat was a valid point as well. Yes, if the keg was flat, they couldn't have fixed it, but they could have given you your money back.

Dunno. Don't go back, but I wouldn't get super upset over it, kwim?
