Or maybe he accidentally sat you in a section that didn't have a server?

I mean it's definitely bad service to leave someone sitting there not being served, but you didn't exactly give them the benefit of the doubt.

He could have had them mixed up. We'll never know.

People totally walked by. Not right next to us, but across the way, clearly visible, but walking fast, too fast for me to grab one, and I'm really non confrontational.

That doesn't excuse the bad service, and there definitely was bad service even if it was incompetence and not malice,, but you can't go through life like that. Speak up!

That's routine service at my local IHOP. My husband and I haven't been there in over 6 months because we got sick of being seated and then ignored for 20+ minutes before we finally walked out.
