I actually called out "Run little donkey! run!!!" both as it was fighting the bit being shoved in it mouth and as it was trying to walk off before he got on.

Saintly poor little donk!

I have NEVER before seen someone use a western cinch with an english saddle, I had not realized that (or that it might even kinda work) until i saw this video...

Exactly.

Then trying to put the bridle over the ears before putting the bit in it's mouth, but it least it looked like it was on forwards that time... The curb strap over the nose and headstall inside out gave me hope that the poor thing would shake the bridle off, buck the kid off and head for the hills, but apparently he's too forgiving for his own good...

Luckily donkeys are very smart and sturdy to be able to handle this physically and mentally better than a pony of the same size would. That DOES NOT make this ok but at least the donkey is more capable of understanding that this is just a idiot kid who will get bored of him eventually. It is quite within a donkey's capability to attack and seriously injure this child so kudos to the little donkey for being so tolerant of this abuse.
