Murphy stands out in front of the barracks' open gates, turning Fidelacchius over in her hands as she looks out at the woods. She's just finished putting out a call to potential first responders - and yelling at certain parties for being massive fricking idiots. Now all that's left is to wait until people show up. If they show up ( Read more... )

Her first responders are, unfortunately, not the first to arrive at the gate. Gabriel has no real reason to be here, except for the fact that if Murphy gets it in her head to rise against Tempest, they are all very fucking dead, and he... Would prefer that didn't happen. So he's here for moral support and... Making sure people don't die.

And trolling. Let's not forget trolling.

At the moment, he's currently standing on the top of the wall with his hands in his pocket. Tall things are dramatic. Also, he can make sure that he and Murphy are alone at the present moment.

"What? No one-woman-warrior Rambo action? I'm disappointed, Murphy." Okay, not really, but still.

"I'm not in the mood to play Rambo." She glares up at him, briefly, before turning her attention back to the woods. She's busy thinking logistics and worrying about the people who stayed behind.

...Also wanting to kick the ass of certain people who stayed behind.

Gabriel vanishes and then reappears on the ground, not so far up in Murphy's space that it would be uncomfortable, but close enough. He doesn't have that much decency.

"No, you're just putting together a game of Cowboys and Fairies. What's the response team look like? A handful of FBI bureaucrats, a few hunters, a wizard, and a partridge and a pear tree?"

He mocks out of... Compassion. And an irrational fear that Murphy's little response team might piss off the wrong person- Tempest- and make everyone die.

...It's a valid concern.

She scowls up at him. "I'm trying to get the cowboys in one spot and backing one person so no one gets his or herself killed starting a war. Are you the bird or the fruit?"

Every first responder team needs a welcome gryphon .. No, really, they do!! :> bondedgryphon January 4 2011, 06:15:43 UTC
Zhaneel had heard Karrin's missive over the communicator, but she was not particularly technologically savvy so she had been unable to respond. So, the best option would be for her to show up a the main gates and see what this was all about. She was not as good a fighter as many in her Wing, but she was resolute and would try her hardest. Perhaps the people here would see her as an asset as she had started to see herself at home ( ... )

Murphy eases a step back, forcing herself not to go any farther. This... thing. Hasn't made a move to attack. It's saying it wants to help. And having someone who can fly around would be useful - if they can be trusted.

"What's your name?"

Zhaneel watches the woman as she takes a step back, unable to help but sigh softly. She chooses to respond to the question first and foremost. She hadn't met this woman, so she was due a reaction of this sort. It shouldn't surprise her anymore, right?

"My name is Zhaneel and I am a gryphon," she says plainly, moving to sit back on her haunches. "And please, rest easy .. I've no intention of attacking anything without justification, nor of eating anything remotely human in size or shape."

"...Wow," Murphy whispers. "Sorry, I've never..."

It's nice that she can still be surprised. Well, not nice. Nice that she can still be awed, yes. She shifts Fidelacchius, finally slinging the strap over her shoulder again and out of the way. She's not letting her guard down just yet, but she's not about to attack someone acting so obviously non-hostile. "How long have you been here? Why haven't I seen you before?"

Every first response team should also have a Slayer. Just a general rule of thumb. Especially when said Slayer is properly prepared.

Buffy wanders over to where she sees Murphy standing, and she likes her already. Tiny blonds clearly need to stick together, even if Murphy seems more like a Giles-type than a Buffy-type.

"Murphy?"

"Present." She straightens, looking Buffy over. She looks fit, athletic, like a martial artist instead of a gym addict. A tiny smile twitches across Murphy's face. "And you are?"

"Buffy Summers," she says with a bit of a wave, before sliding her hands back into her pockets again. "I'm here to apply for the first responders position?"

She sounds like she's applying for a job. She shakes her head.

"Or ... I'm here to help. Whichever is more appropriate."

Murphy grins. "You're here. That's application enough - did you say Buffy Summers?"

There's no way. There's just no way.

Alec has this thing about sitting still. He's not good at it.

His inquisitive nature (which is basically a nice way of saying he's a nosy bastard) never lets him sit somewhere that he hasn't explored thoroughly, and the military in him never lets him settle somewhere that he doesn't know all the exits out of. It's just not smart, and if there's one thing Alec is, it's tactically smart.

Even if some in the barracks would beg to differ.

He makes his way out onto the Veranda and tips his head when he sees the woman standing there. He doesn't recognize her, at least not at first, so he decides to make his way closer. Learning the faces of everyone who stuck around in the castle is his current mission in life. He takes it very seriously.

"Great view," he say simply. "Reminds me of the Grand Canyon."

Shortly after your broadcast, Murphy, you'll have an angel of the Lord appearing thisclosefromyourface.

He really has been trying to work on that whole personal space thing, but with the way the wood makes his teleportation go haywire, just be grateful he landed in your vicinity, and not up a tree somewhere. Castiel likes to be useful, more than anything else, so if he's going to be stuck here, with the abilities he has, he might as well help.

He also wants excuses to avoid his family. They make him feel awkward, but he's not going to tell her that. In fact, he's not going to say much of anything at all, other than confirming who in fact it is he's talking to.

"Karrin Murphy?"

Her first instinct when something appears that suddenly that close is, unfortunately, to drive the hilt of her sword up into his chin. She jumps back enough to draw the sword without cutting him, keeping the blade between them. Okay, he's not the first person she's had appear like that since she got here, but only a couple of them have been trustworthy.

"Yeah. Who're you?"

sitherequietly January 6 2011, 03:53:33 UTC
Please don't stab him, Murphy. It won't get you very far.

His eyes wander down to the sword for a moment, and seeing that the woman is obviously uncomfortable, remembers that he's supposed to be monitoring that personal space thing. He takes a step back before looking back up at her again.

"I didn't mean to startle you. My name is Castiel."

She drops her guard in surprise.

"You're Gabriel's brother?" His little brother. His much larger little brother. Equally socially awkward, but in totally different ways.

...Also this means he's an angel. She clears her throat and slides Fidelacchius back into its sheath. "You surprised me."
