It's only cause my mind's been spinning, all of this is just beginning.

Murphy stands out in front of the barracks' open gates, turning Fidelacchius over in her hands as she looks out at the woods. She's just finished putting out a call to potential first responders - and yelling at certain parties for being massive fricking idiots. Now all that's left is to wait until people show up. If they show up ( Read more... )

Do first responder teams need profilers? Probably not, but as Spencer works for the FBI, carries a .38 and wants to make himself useful, he's here to volunteer. To his credit, he's a pretty decent shot and he's not afraid to use his weapon, though it only carries 6 bullets at a time.

He waves at Murphy as he approaches, hoping that he'll act far less embarrassingly this time.

She nods, feeling slightly wary. Not of him, exactly, but after their last conversation, she's not exactly eager for another round of stammering and staring. Murphy clears her throat.

"Hey. Out for a walk, or coming to volunteer?"

"Oh, uh.. I'm here to volunteer..."

Spencer is definitely more of a research guy than a field guy and he's noticed that Hotch has been leaving him back at the office quite a bit lately. Exactly why that is, he hasn't quite figured out yet, but while he's here, he's going to prove that he can secure a perimeter just as well as Morgan can - even if Prentiss is the only one to witness it.

"You're FBI?" He works with Prentiss, that she knows. He's a doctor, though whether that's medical or informational is an open question.

At least if he's FBI he needs to be able to shoot.

Fletcher has no idea what's going on. All he knows is that he saw the words keeping this place safe safe and get to kill things and he knew he had to show up.

"General Fletcher Hadley at your service, lass." He greets Murphy with a salute. "Should y'doubt my credentials, I'm also known back home as the Minister of Civil Defense and, in some circles, Captain Badass. I've no idea what this is all about or why y'need help, but I just got here and I really wanna kill somethin'. Preferably the twisted soul responsible for my showin' up here in the first place, but I don't think I'll have that chance, so somethin' else will have to suffice."

...Yep.

Murphy coughs to hide a grin before extending her hand. "Karrin Murphy, though I'm guess you know that. I don't doubt your credentials. Haven't seen you around before, though. When did you show up?"

"Yesterday," Fletch answers, probably far too cheerfully for someone who's just been kidnapped by an alternate universe.

At some point between yesterday and today-probably when he woke up from a dream that he was talking to a gryphon and realized that it wasn't a dream at all-his brain may have malfunctioned just a little bit.

Murphy's hand gets a firm shake. "Pleased t'meet you. When do we get t'kill things?"

:D?

"Yesterday. You're pretty gung-ho for someone who probably has no idea what's going on." Possibly he's unbalanced. Probably he's unbalanced. Or just very very frustrated.

Murphy shoves her hands into her pockets and shrugs. "When there's something that warrants it. Tell me a little bit about yourself, General."

Miho doesn't bother answering Murphy's little call (mostly because she... doesn't answer anything). She just drops down from the wall surrounding the barracks a short distance from Murphy without a sound to mark her landing. Straightening up to her full, impressive height of four feet and ten inches she gives Murphy a once-over.

Sup.

Murphy grips the hilt of he sword, eying Miho with guarded surprise. She's starting to realize a problem with her little plan - there's no real way for her to tell who's been living in the barracks and who hasn't. Who saw the message and who's just here.

"Can I help you?"

She rests her right hand on the katana hilt hanging by her side, as her left fishes out the communicator from her red bra. Holding it up for a moment as identification, Miho sticks it right back in there with nary a bulge to show where the hell it went. Then that hand goes on the katana hanging from the left, and she stares at Murphy expectantly as an eyebrow quirks up a bit.

What now.

Murphy quirks her own eyebrows in response, smirking the tiniest bit. She has no idea who this girl is, but she's rising in Murphy's estimation by the minute. Kind of young, but that's not much of an indicator of skill - she's seen tiny girls throw fully grown men in her dojo.

"Why're you here?"

Dante is not a team player but, let's face it, when a cute warrior woman calls he has to check it out. Especially if she asks for help being useful against the onslaught of dangerous supernatural bullshit.

And so, the half-devil comes walking out from the forest off to the side of the barracks; hands in the pockets of his leather pants and a confident lazy swagger to his step. He looks so much like an irresponsible punk... but at least he's got a huge sword strapped to his back. And two crazy large guns.

"First responders, huh... You organising a raid babe -or just the type to enjoy being prepared?"

Murphy eyes him, unimpressed. She's seen men pack punch with nothing but a pair of sticks. Big weapons, shiny though they may be, don't mean much without a good handler. "Were you talking to me? Because it sounds like you wee talking to a Barbie doll."

In his profession big weapons does make a difference -if nothing else than because if the thing you're fighting is more than twice your size you need reach to cut it through thoroughly. Not that he cares about explaining that.

Her bite makes him cough out a dry laugh and he raises his hands in surrender -if a bit mockingly so. "Oh touchy touchy, aren't we. Well I'm sorry, police officer. So did you need muscle for your little team or should I just go back to my cabin?"

He throws a thumb towards the barracks. Given his slight passive aggressive nonchalance it'd be safe to guess he's not the kind to appreciate neither authority nor the police. Especially not the latter, most likely.

Unknown to Murphy the only reason he's here is actually because aside from being a cop she is a woman and by the looks of it a respectable one at that who might know what she's doing. And there are enough people in this camp that deserves some protection.

"I could use muscle. Muscle that doesn't listen to the police officer," and that comes out only slightly bitter, "is about as much use to me as no muscle at all."

She crosses her arms and leans back against the barracks wall, Fidelacchius tucked into the crook of her elbow.

Murphy probably could have expected that Harry would show up to meet her at the gate too long.

What Harry hadn't anticipated was Murphy... not being there. Which is unsettling for at least three reasons - probably more, if he really thinks about it.

Anyone else might check their comms to track her, but Harry's not used to having technology that works reliably enough for that to be his first instinct. Instead, he starts to walk slowly past the walls and toward the trees, bracing instinctively for some kind of attack.

"Murphy?"

"Here." Murphy emerges from just inside the trees, sword sheathed but in hand. She's unsettled, definitely, and distracted by her communicator. Harry may not be used to using them, but she wants to make sure Gabriel's not off somewhere being an idiot. Any more than he usually is, at least.

She also can't get the image of that tree and its graying noose out of her head. "Gabriel took me on a little field trip."

Harry lets out a breath, most of the tension easing from his shoulders - though there's still a faint edge of wariness to his movements, here outside of the walls. They may not be far outside, but proximity doesn't necessarily mean safety out here, and things like walls and gates and thresholds, they matter. And he'll feel much better once they're both inside them again.

"Of course he did. I hope you went somewhere fun..."
