it bothered me even more that Lorne was the one sent to kill Lindsey. It was done i'm sure to be insulting to Lindsey and well it was.

Though I think the reason NFA is so unsatisfying was that they didn't know it was going to end there. THe show got canceled mid-season and they rushed (and probably didn't give a damn at this point) Then again S5 was so awful IMO that I didn't care it was going away

I know, it almost made me wish that S5 never existed. Although there were a couple of episodes that were good Smile Time: was just pure entertainment. I can count maybe 2 or 3 episodes that were enjoyable.

The whole..ordeal just bothers me so much.

I don't know if that's much of an excuse, they BARELY got S5, so he should have known that it wasn't going to be lasting that long. Joss always talks about how he plans ahead, so I don't know if I'd buy that as an excuse.

I'mnot sure I buy Joss plans. (then again I didn't like either firefly or dollhouse so I'mnot quite the fan others are)

Outside of Connor's return I'm not sure I liked anything about S5

Yay! We're like kindred spirits. I was never a huge FF fan either...as for Dollhouse? Well I'm *trying* I've given up on it (not that I trust Joss more than I can throw him anyway...) but from what I'm seeing everyone said that this past episode was really good....

Ya, Origin is what stood out for me. I think Destiny was probably the worst episode and the worst possible insult to Angel. Sheesh.

I agree with this so much. Season 6 could have been so great and instead it was just a giant let-down. Buffy was completely HUMILIATED in Season 6 while Angel was pretty stable in Season 3. Season 7 was a bit better, but I could have done without all the Spike that was in it. Also? Willow = Super Annoying. She started rubbing me the wrong way in early Season 3.

I didn't realize how much she was annoying me in S3 until I rewatched it because I found myself yelling at my screen. Like...um, ok Buffy had to kill a SOULED love of her life, and she got kicked out of school and out of her house...and now you think she should start dating Scott? All of me thinks the only reason why she did it was to convince everyone around her that she was "ok" but she wasn't. Willow was too caught up in herself and then accuses Buffy of not caring enough.

:D I do miss the fandom sometimes. You make a lot of sense, and I agree with a whole lot of it. NFA pissed me off. I was actually outraged that they killed off Lindsey.. it didnt make sense. Like, at all. And yes, it sure as hell was a cliffhanger. I was kinda over Angel after season 2, but I couldnt stop watching ( ... )

Angel is allowed to become colder, more powerful, become a general and is feared and revered while Buffy gets demonized and booted from her house.Gah thinking about that, that annoys me too. Angel was allowed to get away with making all sorts of controversial opinions on his show, including the mindwipe over Conner (when Bts presented it as a huge big deal and violation when Willow did it). And he was always making decisions for them, like when he just announced that he had accepted running W&H for them in season 4. And I didn't have a problem with them deciding to make Buffy more of a general in season 7, I actually thought it was a pretty interesting direction when she was training the potentials, but then they had to make it this big thing about how she was becoming hard and cold, and they might as well have said "Oh dear, she's starting to lose her femininity". And then they made a joke of her speeches by having Buffy go overboard and giving inspirational speeches to the telephone man and everyone nodding off, but you didn't see ( ... )

Here here. These are the kind of things that at the time didn't seem so sexist...but you think we're progressive that how many of didn't cheer when Buffy just kicked some major demon ass. Or who didn't cheer when Buffy hits Parker over the head with a stick? LOL ( ... )

You're completely right about Angel not having it as bad as Buffy. Him feeling betrayed by Cordy 'cause she was sleeping with his son... hardly as big a deal as the shit Buffy went through. Buffy getting booted from her own house by her BEST FRIENDS was unbelievable. HER HOUSE. wtf.

I dunno about you despite S6 and S7, I still look back on the show fondly. Totes. I'll always look back on it fondly. There's nothing else like it. I think when season 6 & 7 first aired I wasn't happy with it, but you like said... it was all that Buffy/Spike nakedness and Spike being a suedo Angel. Other than that the episodes weren't half bad. Obviously a lot darker than what it used to be. Season 7 got a little better though.
