It occurs to me that I read at least 2 books a week and rarely ever talk about them.  Which is interesting because I often think "I should write in LJ about this book.  It was so interesting because of x y and z."  Anyway, I figured the best way to fix this was to sit down and do it ( Read more... )

For some reason, _To Kill A Mockingbird_ always makes me think of _Their Eyes Were Watching God_. If you have not read it, I recommend it. I read it years before Oprah named it for her book club. Zora Neal Hurston is an amazing, powerful writer and the book develops so many themes on so many levels. It's a beautiful story, in a sort of tragic way.
