Your normal sounds just lovely and I hope mine will return one day soon. The thought of your early morning mists made me smile.

My normal also involves an awful lot of mundane! But the mists were a good moment... made it worth getting out of bed that early!

looking down from the top of the hill over town, thought for a moment that the whole of the flood plain was underwater. Then realised it was all just mist!

*weeps with jealousy*

Also, your description of the fruits of a perfect Indian summer is absolutely gorgeous *shivers with delight before going back to weeping*

You can just imagine the golden dreaming spires of Oxford rising out of a sea of mist, huh?

It really is a perfect Indian summer at the moment. There's an old wives' tale that lots of berries in the autumn presages a hard, cold winter - I guess we'll find out if that's true!

I can't quite claim such a loverly domestic life, but I love hearing about yours. This may show my geekish side too much, but the bit about going berry-picking reminded me of Hunger Games, specifically of Katniss and Gale sharing berries they found in the woods. That sense of pure joy is almost palpable in your stories.

I can't believe SP#2 is school-age! I now feel old...

Here is your comment that LJ ate yesterday, as far as I can reconstruct it!

Firstly well done to SSP - he deserves to be proud of himself.

As for This time of year at work always feels to me like that moment when the rollercoaster has slowly chugged its way right up to the top of the loop and is paused just waiting for the plunge when everybody goes AAAAAaaaaaaargh! That is just the perfect description ( ... )
