Man, it's taken me much too long to work the BSG icons back into the rotation!

The Ori (or me complicating things thought it was spelled something like Or-Hai) are pretty fucking dope. I didn't like how they were introduced because that whole ep/Quantum Leap gimmick bored me at first so I thought we were gonna get another dose of Replicator lameness. The bit with the big bad Ori infront of the wall of flame sold me. Even though they could have been played essentially like the Go'auld were ("we're gods! yup thats us. Also power...I seek all kinds of power.") I like that they're being written more along the lines of religious zealots.

It's so scary because how do you beat that? They're like "worship us...or die." It's not about resources, it's not about military might, it doesn't seem to be about anything that SG command can hope to manipulate and use against them. I'm very interested to see where this ends up going. I haven't been very interested in anything the SG-1 writers have done in a while, so good on them.

I skipped over the BSG stuff the first go round as I didn't watch yet, so all late ( ... )

I'm shite with names (to prove that I will offer the fact that I just finished watching the ep, yet I'll still ask) so was Simon Kara's doctor?

Yeppers!

He has a really great voice and I'm glad to see a brotha added to Cylon ranks. I'm kind of sick of #6 being the only human Cylon (outside of Boomer that is)

Agreed. What did she tell Gaius, that there were 8 other Cylon sleepers hidden in the fleet? I hope that means we'll see Simon again ^_^

What did you think of Starbucks Big Dumb Jock? Like they did a decent job making him likeable, but he was just too Calvin Klein Ad vanilla for my liking.

Heh, I've seen people referring to him as Not!Lee which amuses me to no end. I didn't mind him, but you're right, he was very model-esque and it was a little off-putting. He looked like he wandered in off a WB set or something :-P

His goodbye scene to Kara was pretty good though.

I also liked the scene in the beginning when they first woke up. They had good chemistry and I liked him playing around with her.

And I hope and pray ( ... )

Yeah, they did. But that scene stands out for me because Kara's was in her boy shorts. Her shape isn't really conventional (she's kinda built like a gymnast on roids and in a stance that looks like she's 1 step away from taking somebodies head off) but I really dig it.

She could be BSG's Scorpy! :-P

As long as she isn't a BSG!Stark. "My side, your side, my side, your side...". Ugh. I'm going to go download the eps where he dies and put that scene on loop.

with some slight alterations:
"We just can't deny the real nature of their existence, we can't just write them off as machines -- The Fleet is gonna have to recognize what they are to understand them, and ultimately beat them."

I can totally see Adama saying that 7 eps from now. Really well written Sunshine. Your inner fic'er trying to break free after being suppressed for so long, eh? Maybe change the "The Fleet" into a "We, all of us, ( ... )

Goram reply limit...actually about that Frack still sounds really stupid and forced about 80% of the time. They could totally take a page from Firefly's book and have more than one naughty word to go. Did FS have something besides Frell? I can't remember. Anyways

With this show, I just have so much faith that the writers know where they want to take it. I haven't heard anything to back this up, but I almost feel like they have this JMS type thing going where they already have the show's larger arc worked out, and they're just filling in the details. Anyway, what you said: I can't wait to see what happens ^_^ I think you're right about them being on a JMS scale, which will probably only become more obvious the deeper we get into the series (where seeds planted in s1 start to pay off in s3 and beyond). Also maybe they seem to be JMS'in it is because the stories are so tight. There has been practically no filler eps so far, with every eps moving things forward (take notes LOST, you bummers). Not to mention that they use the ( ... )
