22 Leeteuk had his mouth agape after hearing those scary words from Sungmin, add the fact that the voice doesn’t really belong to his dongsaeng, but to a different woman.
When Sungmin’s eye color returned to being black, that’s when Leeteuk decided to ask, “Min, what did you say?” The young girl snapped her head to the male vampire, a clueless expression painted on her face, “Uh… what? What did I say? Did I say anything?”
The guy frowned and narrowed his eyes, a hint of accusation on his voice, “Y-you don’t… know? You… you said that the end is near…”
“I said that?” Sungmin asked in surprise, making Leeteuk theorize that there was probably another ‘someone’ inside her body.
Then, the door suddenly opened, and they saw Donghae slowly entering as if taking cautions around the room. After closing the door behind him, Donghae smiled at Leeteuk; asking permission if he could have some alone time with Sungmin for a while, which the older understood and briskly left the room.
“Hey,” Donghae gently said the moment he kneeled beside Sungmin, he eyes her lovingly as he admires the girl, who he thinks is the most beautiful woman his eyes would ever lay on.
“Hae…” his expression softened after hearing his loved one’s weak voice. He stroked her hair, memorizing her every detail for it might be the last he would see this kind of beauty. “I’m sorry, Min… I’m really, really sorry…”
“Why are you saying sorry?” she breathed.
“I just want to… I just felt the need to…”
Sungmin shut her eyes tight, took a deep breath, and said, “I really loved you, Hae… I still love you…” Donghae smiled, bitterly chuckling, “But you love Kyuhyun more?”
The girl bowed her head down to hide her tears, “I… I’m sorry…”
Donghae cupped her cheeks, gave her eyelids kisses before reaching her soft plump lips, claiming it once again with passion, tears bursting out from his closed lids, deepening their kiss.
“It’s okay, Min. As long as I know that there is still a part of me in your heart…” he whispered in between his constant sniffing. The woman smiled, “There will always be, Hae… there will always be.”
He wiped his tears, brushed his loved one’s hair, “Thanks for being a part of my life. Thank you for making me happy in the times we spent together,” He leaned in once again to close the distance in between their lips. “I love you.”
Sungmin sobbed more, her voice cracking as she spoke, though it is still full of sincerity, “I love you too, Hae…” Donghae gently rubbed his thumb on the girl’s soft cheek, “You know what, you are so beautiful when you are a girl, but I still prefer you as a guy because that’s the Sungmin I fell for…” Both vampires dryly chuckled, bitterness evident on the sounds they created. “…Please don’t forget me.”
“What?”
“I have to go now. I still have to look for my team. I escaped just to see you.” Donghae sheepishly said, giving her lips one last peck before hastily storming out of the room, leaving Sungmin dumb struck.
But then, Sungmin’s eyes turned bright red again, the same shade she had minutes ago. Her fangs grew longer and sharper, her throat now making unfamiliar noises whilst her back arched, moaning at the different kind of sensation shrouding her body. Her mind went blank after.
In just one move, the rope tied around her wrists loosened, freeing her from the hindrance of her getting away. She stood up and went outside of the room, head shifting sideways as if looking for something. Her bare feet led her to stop in front of the Phantoms’ leader’s office, bending forward to press her ears on the door, trying if she could hear the conversation going on inside.
“WHAT?! YOU JOINED IN PLANNING THAT?! HOW COULD YOU, FATHER?!”
“Don’t raise your voice on me, Siwon. I did that for the sake of our kind. I did it for my daughter.”
“But Sungmin is still your grandchild!”
“That child is said to be the one to end our race. Do you think we would want that?! Everybody knows that prevention is better than cure.”
The vampires, consisting of Kangta, Siwon, Leeteuk and Sooyoung, flinched when the door was banged open, revealing a flaring Sungmin.
“You plotted to kill my baby?!” A different voice came out from Sungmin, which Leeteuk recognized as the one she had earlier, while the other three recognized it as Dara’s voice.
“Dara… daughter… is that you?” Kangta, Siwon’s father, took a step forward.
“You… father… you wanted for our baby to die?!” Tears flowed down the girl’s cheeks, anger painted on her face. “Noona…” she heard her beloved younger brother, Siwon, mumble, but she couldn’t care less. All she could think was the fact that her father was one of the responsible men for the death of her husband, including hers. She even knew that her father planned on killing her son.
“Dara… it is for our race… your child is the-”
“Forbidden child? That’s bullshit. You actually believed it?! It is just a freaking prophecy with no proofs at all!” she retorted while carelessly flailing her arms on the air. Their father gets gentle when it comes to his precious daughter; however, he burst in anger due to what the woman said. “Do you see what your child brought us now? We are now in a war, and just like in the prophecy, it is because of that goddamn boy or girl or whatever gender that person does have!”
“Father,” Siwon suddenly butted in, much to the shock of the other vampires; Siwon never dared answering his father when he is not the one talking to. This made Sooyoung hold his arm and look at him in worry. “You started this war. You commanded us to attack the Crescents’ Main House!” The man’s voice was starting to get higher.
“No. It is still because of Sungmin that’s why I did that,” They all shivered at the seriousness and firmness of the oldest Phantom’s voice. “Mithra sent men abroad to fucking kill your mother while I was away doing business at London!”
Dara(Sungmin), Siwon and Leeteuk narrowed their eyes at the old man, while Sooyoung didn’t seem to be surprised and had a forlorn look. “But, father, mother is with you when you arrived…” Siwon trailed off.
“The Mother we all saw that time was already a soul, Siwon,” Sooyoung gently answered, eyes getting teary at each word she says. Sooyoung has the ability to see and determine souls, so they didn’t doubt on her when she said that. She turned to her husband, “Do you ever wonder why she is not here with us right now? Mother is a very skilled vampire, so she was able to reappear to you even just once and touch Sungmin, but that’s all to it. I was about to approach her when I saw her come out from your office, but her body dissipated a bit… well, that is because I could see souls… and her body turned into one,”
She altered her gazes between her father-in-law and Siwon, “She saw me. Knowing that I could talk to souls, she asked me not to tell you the truth until you figure it out yourself. She… she asked me to tell you that she will always be with you…”
“Do you know why they killed your mother? It is because they want us to surrender the Forbidden Child to them! See? It is still because of Sungmin!” Kangta yelled frustratingly, his loud voice echoing inside the four corners of the room.
“Then, what are you planning to do to Sungmin? Kill him?” Dara blankly asked.
“Yes, my daughter.”
That’s it. It was already said straight to her face. Her father will kill her son… his grandson.
Violent wind attacked the room, the glass windows crashed, opening and closing repeatedly, papers went flying inside, and in a blink of an eye, Dara was already strangling her father, whilst shouting in a strong voice, “I DON’T CARE IF YOU ARE MY FATHER, BUT I WON’T STAY STILL IF MY SON’S LIFE IS IN DANGER!”
“NOONA!!!” Siwon pleaded, trying to go near the two, but strong wind prevents him from doing so. Dara is one of the most powerful vampires. In addition, she is also using Sungmin’s body, whose owner is said to be the most powerful one in the entire vampire race.
Her pupils dilated as she slowly tightens her deathly grip on her father’s neck, ignoring the old man’s whimpers of pain and the others’ yells.
“SUNGMIN!!!” All, including Dara, diverted their gazes to Donghae, who was on the door, all sweating and panting. Weirdly, the wind stopped, and Dara’s eyes softened and went back to normal. She faced Kangta, hissing, “Minho and I will have our revenge.” She doesn’t want Donghae to think that Sungmin killed his grandfather.
The next thing they knew, Donghae swiftly rushed to Sungmin to catch her, for the girl turned unconscious and might fall on the floor.

Kyuhyun sighed after checking that his team was already gathered on their meeting place. Once he told the vampires with him to prepare for their attack and got busy, Seohyun pulled him to a dark place, a bit far from the other vampires with them.
He tried struggling from the woman’s grasp, but she voluntarily did it after assuring that no one could hear them, making him look skeptically at her.
“Kyuhyun, I have something to tell you,” he raised an eyebrow when Seohyun looked sideways once again, heaving a deep sigh before saying, “Changmin oppa is conniving with the Crescents.”
“He… what? Why would he do that?” asked Kyuhyun, still in disbelief.
Seohyun lowered her voice, making the guy go nearer her, “He said he wants to dethrone you, the Chos. He thinks that if he conspires with the Crescents, he could replace your father. I don’t know what is happening to him…”
“Why only tell me now?”
The woman embraced herself, tears starting to pool around her eyes, worrying the guy with her, “I am scared of oppa… I’m so sorry…” He sighed and tried hushing her by patting her on the back, smiling to assure her that he is not mad, “It’s okay. Thank you for telling me.”
Seohyun just gaped at the retreating back of Kyuhyun; shocked at the gentleness the man showed her, whom she knew who used to be the coldest young man she ever knew.
Kyuhyun clenched his fist as he sneakily ran through the dark forest with his group, his mind occupied with the thoughts of Changmin.
Changmin was his best friend when they were still kids. Changmin would always be the one to comfort him whenever Siwon or his grandpa Kangta scolded him. Changmin would always be the one to help him prank on their Donghae hyung and Eunhyuk hyung, or even their Heechul hyung sometimes. In short, Changmin was the closest to him…
…Until Changmin’s father died.
The shine in Changmin’s eyes died, and the boy became unsociable. He didn’t even talk to ten-year old Kyuhyun since then. Kyuhyun woke up one lonely dawn, only to find out that Changmin left to another country without even bidding goodbye to him.
“Young master Kyuhyun,”
He was snapped out from his reverie at the mention of his name. They were now on one of the gates of the main house, and his men are now waiting for his command.
“Changmin oppa?” He heard Seohyun mumble. He followed her gaze and saw Changmin standing on top of the high cemented wall, a smirk planted on the latter’s lips, the big full moon shining dramatically on the background.
Kyuhyun widened his eyes when Changmin snapped his fingers and vampires jumped from inside to them.

Heechul woke up at the sound of something splashing near him, only to find out that his hands were tied up his head, half of his body already soaked in water. He looked around, cursing for he still can’t see anything. He wriggled his body and moved his feet sideways, kicking, hoping to feel something. He knew he felt a body was beside him after he kicked, and that someone could have been on the same position as him.
“YAAAAHHHHHH!!!!” He shouted, heaving a sigh of relief after knowing that his talkative and noisy mouth wasn’t covered.
“Was that already your last word, Heechul-ah?”
He recognized that voice. He knew the source of it. He knew who owns that gentle voice. That voice belongs to the person who holds his heart… the person who broke it as well.
“Hangeng… are you a Crescent?” he asked, his voice cracking at each word, holding back his tears.
“Fuck yeah.”
His heart sank. He already cannot control his tears from bursting out. He cannot believe it. He was betrayed. All along, he believed that Hangeng is kind and nice. He believed that Hangeng is already the one for him. He believed that Hangeng loved him. Did he really?
“I loved you, bastard! I fucking loved you! But you are a total shit, a complete asshole, a fucking bastard!!! I trusted you!!!!” He yelled from the top of his lungs, his eyes turning bright red, hands creating a big blue flame, successfully freeing him from the rope. He landed on a smooth, but hard surface, not even paying heed to the fact that the water already reached his torso.
He swayed his hands, which still has that blue flame on it, making it possible for him to see that his men were there, tied the same way as his. He went to Kibum, and was about to shake him, but he remembered that fire is still on his hands, so he decided to just shout at the younger, but to no avail, Kibum didn’t wake up.
Fuming, he snapped his head to where he thinks he heard his ex-lover’s voice. He struggled his way thru the rising water to go near Hangeng, only to bump by a strong glass barrier. He punched it, but it didn’t break. Because of the light on his fists, he could see Hangeng, and it just pisses him off, so he banged by the glass harder… however, nothing is happening.
“Let us fucking out of here, Hangeng!!!” he screamed whilst doing everything to break the glass, raising his head for the water was already on his chin.
“It’s no use, Heechul. Even if it is Full Moon tonight, you won’t be able to break that glass because it is under a spell.” Hangeng said, a bit of distress apparent on his soft voice, but Heechul ignored the noise his chest made and continued cursing at the Crescent.
Heechul choked when the water reached his nose, making it hard for him to breathe. His body surrendered moving the moment his eyes were covered. He lost hope. The flame he made was even now extinguished due to the water.
He wants to say sorry to his group members for not being a good leader. He still wants to say sorry to his younger sister, Yoona, for being prettier than her. He needs to apologize to Kyuhyun and Donghae for not fighting with them. Now, he leaves the rest to Sungmin. He trusts Sungmin that he will save everyone. He knows Sungmin can do it. Sungmin has a very good heart, so he will die in peace because Sungmin is still alive. As long as Sungmin is breathing, there is still hope.
Then, he knows he heard Hangeng say, “I really love you, Heechul. I am sorry…”
A gunshot was then heard by him.

She clasped her hands on her chest after kneeling, hanging her head down as she mumbles prayers on a secluded room in their mansion. She hates wars. She hates noises from men attacking each other… killing each other. She wants peace.
“Geunyoung-ah,”
She looked up to smile at her brother, a lone tear escaping an eye of hers, with the man wiping it using his thumb. “Geunyoung-ah, do you want to create a barrier with me?” Geunyoung stared at Geunseuk, her voice as soft as ever, “So that humans won’t know of this?”
“Yes, baby.” Geunseuk said with a smile while stroking the younger’s hair.
“Can I save Yesung oppa through this?”
“You can save more. You want that, right?”
Geunyoung nodded and stood up to hold hands with her brother.

Mithra smirked at his son, Seunghyun, as soon as Kangta and Siwon entered the room they were staying at, whispering to the younger, “See? I told you they will go here.”
“Long time no see, Cho Siwon.” Seunghyun said with an amused grin, his eyes fixed on the serious Siwon, who didn’t say a single word.
The King of the Crescents crossed his arms, absolutely liking the look of disgust on his mortal enemy’s face, “So, how’s the Forbidden Child?” The Phantom King ignored the question and proceeded to his original agenda for coming there. “You fucking killed my wife and daughter, and you had the nerve to ask for that brat?!”
“I didn’t kill Dara. It wasn’t my fault that she would give her life up to her child. Oh well, that’s how a mother loves her child…”
“How about my mother?!” Siwon frustratingly asked, her fists now clenched on the side, much to the amusement of Seunghyun.
“Oh. That, I did.” It was Seunghyun who answered.
Siwon charged forward to punch Seunghyun, only to be kicked away by the latter and got his collar being gripped, “This area is too small for our battlefield, Siwon-sshi,” Seunghyun mockingly whispered with a smug grin to the Phantom, now finding himself being thrown outside of the room, his back crashing the supposed-to-be sturdy wall.

Sungmin tightened her clutch on Donghae’s hand, making the guy stop running. She pointed at the dark blue sky, which was slowly turning violet, “Hae, what is the meaning of this?”
Donghae looked up as well, realization hitting him after hearing Siwon’s conversation with Taekyoung earlier, “It was Taekyoung’s doing. I heard that his sister and he have the ability to create barriers like that to separate us from the human world. Father asked him to do that.”
The guy then tugged the girl’s hand, telling her that they should move now and follow the others, with Leeteuk trailing behind them.
However, he suddenly stopped as they were able to land on the secret entrance to the main palace, earning confused looks from the other two. He smiled at Sungmin, “Let’s part ways here for now. I’ll go look for Hyuk and the others, and you look for Kyuhyun’s group. They are assigned at the left entrance. Good luck.”
“Hae…” Sungmin whispered, her chest making indescribable noises, her feet suddenly feeling heavy. In instinct, she hugged the man tight, as if not wanting to let go, whispering on his ear, “Live… please live… for me… I still want to see you alive and kicking after this… I still want to hear your alien stories…”
Donghae didn’t say anything. He just smiled, kissed the girl’s forehead for seconds, and hugged her once again before pushing her to Leeteuk, “Teukkie hyung, please take care of Sungmin. Don’t let her go alone.” Leeteuk gave the young master a nod, instantly holding the sobbing Sungmin’s arms when Donghae ran away from them, preventing her from running after the guy.
Donghae, as fast as flash of light, dashed inside the pillars of the mansion, not finding the silence of the area odd. He halted his steps in alarm when he heard a voice near him. Thinking that it belonged to Yunho, he took the courage to appear, and there he saw the Crescent prince limping, also stopping when his presence was felt.
“Oh, Lee Donghae. There you are. I thought you are with your monkey-looking friend.” Yunho weakly said, his voice echoing on the quiet place. Donghae thought of Eunhyuk, and just his best friend’s image flashing his mind made his blood boil. “What did you do to them?” his voice was turning low and guttural.
“They’re done. Sleeping.” The Crescent shrugged. Despite being badly injured, Yunho was still able to throw snarky remarks.
“YOU FUCKTARD! HOW DARE YOU KILL MY BEST FRIEND?!” Donghae yelled as he rushed to attack the laughing guy, whose laughing immediately died once he felt his cheek sting due to the punch of the raged vampire prince.
Donghae was losing his rationality. All he could think of was the fact that Eunhyuk was now dead because of this man. He didn’t even get to see his best friend. He didn’t even get to thank the other for all the things Eunhyuk had done for him. He didn’t even have the chance to reciprocate his friend’s feelings for him.
He didn’t mind if Yunho’s face was now covered in blood; actually, he wants to do more. He grabs the whimpering guy’s collar and violently throws him somewhere, and in an instant, he gives the guy more attacks, and then does the same routine again. It is Yunho’s fault for telling Donghae, a Phantom prince, that he killed Eunhyuk in a Full Moon.
He harshly pinned the choking Yunho on the wall, the cemented partition cracked at the contact. He fished a golden knife from his back pocket, and was about to stab the vampire on the heart, but Yunho was then pushed away, and because he is shocked, Donghae was also shoved. There stood Jaejoong, Yunho’s forever loyal servant.
“Master, go now!!! I’ll take care of him!!!”
“Jae…” Yunho whispered, but then decided to take this chance and escape while stealing worried glances to his slave.
Donghae wiped the sweat forming on his forehead as he used one blood-coated hand to stand up, cursing at the Crescent servant, who moved to attack. Being the skilled fighter he is, he swiftly avoided the attack, and trapped Jaejoong under him, instantly stabbing the anti-vampire knife on the Crescent’s chest, pulling it out after two seconds before disappearing into thin air, following where Yunho might have went to.
“I love you, Master Yunho… I’m glad that I died for you…” he breathed using the last of his energy before turning into ashes.
____________________________________
Without effort, Kyuhyun dodged Changmin’s attacks on him. Changmin was wondering on when the guy became this strong and skilled. Earlier before their fight, Kyuhyun was able to kill fifty monsters in just one blow… and it pissed the hell out of him.
Little he did know that the reason why the Crescents kept on trying to capture Sungmin was because once a vampire drinks the Forbidden Child’s blood, he will have the same power as the legendary child. Due to years of not being beside Kyuhyun, he did not know that Sungmin is Kyuhyun’s slave; therefore, Kyuhyun had been acquiring power from the Forbidden Child’s blood, making him one of the strongest vampires right now.
“Changmin-ah, stop now!” Kyuhyun angrily hissed whilst he continued avoiding Changmin’s attacks. He never attacked back on his former friend yet. Changmin didn’t reply back and just resumed trying to injure the Phantom Prince.
Kyuhyun had enough. He skillfully tackled Changmin on the ground, straddling the guy under him and took a firm hold of Changmin’s neck, asking, “Why are you doing this?!”
Changmin held Kyuhyun’s wrist, trying to break free, but it was too strong. “Your father killed my father!!!”
“Changmin, he didn’t! He was-”
“HE KILLED MY FATHER!!!!!!”
“THAT WAS A FUCKING LIE, CHANGMIN!!! YOUR FATHER WAS HELPING AUNTIE DARA AND PRINCE MINHO TO ESCAPE, SO HE WAS KILLED BY THE CRESCENTS!!!”
“I DON’T BELIEVE YOU!!!!!”
Then, Kyuhyun snapped his head up and narrowed his eyes to have a clearer view of the two people running far away.
“What is Sungmin doing here?!” he hissed more to himself. However, he then felt something sting on his stomach part, his butt falling on the ground after the knife was pulled out by him, his eyes slowly darting at the shocked face of a trembling Changmin.
Donghae cussed for not feeling Yunho anywhere; the guy must have casted a spell so as not for him to be felt by the best mind reader.
He reached a vast ground, gray ashes and blood are everywhere, and it scared him. He sobbed when Eunhyuk crossed his mind. Is he really dead? Did that Yunho really killed his best friend? Won’t he see him again?
“HYUK!!! EUNHYUK!!! EUNHYUKKIE!!! MY MONKEY!!! WHERE ARE YOU?!!!” His voice just brought along the wind; no one heard him. No one shouted back, ‘Fish, I am here! I am still alive, pabo!’
No one.
He ran and ran, crying his heart out loud. His feet leading him to the place where he saw his brother was at.
Kyuhyun was kneeling in front of Changmin, who had his arm extended on Kyuhyun’s stomach. When Kyuhyun sat on the ground, and Changmin scooted away from the former, his eyes widened in alarm at the realization that Kyuhyun was just stabbed by Changmin.
“KYUHYUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
Sungmin abruptly stopped dead on her tracks, making Leeteuk bump on her back. Her eyes fell on the floor, her heart beating erratically, another unknown, scary feeling creeps her inside. Weirdly, Kyuhyun’s face flashed on her mind.
She snapped her head to the direction where they previously went, her voice quivering as she whispered, tears unknowingly fell from her eyes, “Kyu…Kyuhyun?”
