Forgot to post this link earlier. I'm not sure I agree with this article. At all. But it's interesting. The intern program director sent me the link (no idea why):
yea, i understand the testosterone aspects of the article. but, i think the part of the article that frustrated me the most was the survey that women are satisfied in their lower-paying positions, etc etc. i distrust surveys in general, but i think that the complacency could stem from a feeling of powerlessness. having worked with several female plaintiffs in sex discrimination suits, i get the sense that women are dissatisfied, they just don't feel like they can do anything. granted my experience is limited and anecdotal.
another problem that i have with the idea that women are less competitive is that when women are competitive, they get labeled a "ball buster" or a bitch or something worse. they play the game, and they still can't win. of course, it's not like there aren't double standards for guys too. but that's a whole different discussion.
This is SOOO wierd.. I read your entry here lastnight and then I went to bed. I had a dream that Gen or Rachael was reading Bitch Magazine and in it it read WHAT WOMEN WANT. and I was like ADR had that in her LJ. Why is it in Bitch magazine?.. that was the only dream I remember and It felt so real that when I got on now I , for a second, thought it really happened.

Anyway, yeah it appears that the glass ceiling still exists. Coporate America just got a better brand of glass cleaner.
