Chromia really, really hated being an errand ‘bot for her boss. She was supposed to be a bodyguard, not a secretary or a go-girl for dry cleaning. Changing jobs was rapidly sounding like a better and better idea, and it was something she was looking into before she ended up deciding to just punch her boss in the face and therefore ruin any future attempts at employment.

The library was a strange place to send her, but her boss had insisted that she find a hard copy of TransTechs and You! A guide to Friendly Relations in the Nexus. She rather suspected this might, in fact, be something he wanted her to read as opposed to wanting it for himself.

Come to think of it, maybe she would just punch him in the face later. Slag the job.

She grumpily searched through the library with a look on her face that frightened off anyone that might have actually wanted to help her find said book. When she turned down an aisle and found a car in her way, she didn’t bother with pleasantries or politeness. She wanted the slaggin’ book, and she wanted to ( ... )

"I apologise," Kitt began, his voice carefully modulated - this was, after all, a library - "but I cannot transform."

He recognized the voice but admitted to himself that this was not exactly the locale he would've predected her to frequent, especially after the display between her and Thunderblast. She didn't seem like a reader.

But then, he could be wrong.

"What? Cogs busted?" Clearly she doesn't remember (or didn't deem him important enough) any previous conversation.

He was certainly right, Chromia had little time for libraries unless it was for researching wars, weaponry, or battle tactics.

Even then, she preferred to discuss such things with her commander, or simply test them out herself.

"No. I am not Cybertronian." That, he thought, might be explanation enough. Somehow, though, he doubted that. He sent out another query - the origins of the Aurexian war. There were quite a few similarities, but still he researched.

FUCK THE DEWEY DECIMAL SYSTEM. LIBRARY OF CONGRESS ALL THE WAY. confounder September 23 2009, 02:53:16 UTC
[Megatron - with a temporary coat of paint that is not terribly becoming on him but does remove his, well, resemblance to himself - has finally dared the library himself, rather than sending others to retrieve materials for him. He is not enjoying the experience of being in the upper Zones as much as might be expected; it tweaks his sense of caution (or maybe paranoia) far too much.]

[Disguised or not, though, Megatron has a good memory. Thus, he pauses by Kitt as he goes by, carriny a stack of un-networked datapads and even a few dusty archival boxes containing analog materials.] Excuse me - are you Kitt? We met over the network, I believe...

The voice. He recognized the voice as the one who had directed Cometfall - now known as Starscream - to him. "Multivariable," Kitt greeted. "Yes, I am Kitt."

The amount of use gotten by the analog resources of this library was almost surprising. It was strange how this culture struck him as both futuristic and retrograde.

"It's a pleasure to meet you in person," Megatron said with a smile. "I don't suppose you ever got a chance to meet Starscream before he left, by any chance?" Megatron has never and will never refer to 'his' Starscream as Cometfall, no matter how useful or becoming the pseudonym may be. That would mean that the majority of the Starscreams were somehow 'more Starscream' than his own.

"I did. He was extremely helpful and was able to fix most of the damage that had been done to me during the chemical spill, and I sent him a number of books as well as music files. It was good to meet him. Thank you for your recommendation." His scanner whispered in its usual calm motion, hiding the curiousity - it was interesting to actually see Multivariable. He had spoken to so many over the network yet seen so few.
