Heroic Act #2 - The Bank

Sep 21, 2011 08:52

[It is afternoon, and there is a an alien flopped out over a chair somewhere, looking particularly exhausted. He addresses the camera not with theatrics today, but with a sort of teeth-grinding irritation.]You know, I made some career choices in life very young. I thought being bad meant going into supervillainy. Thriving on chaos, leaving ruin in ( Read more... )

That was an impressive rant.

[She's proud of you, braving the masses!]

That place was the hell reserved for the common man. On earth. And I though the educational system was a festering pustule on humanity.

[He rubs at his eyes, weary from the whole mess.]

But I am now a man of means and property. And also am legally able to deal with Stormer on the House of Pizzazz issue, so that I may still have income, but she'll remain in control of the club, and a place to put funding from said venture, and then move it into other ventures.

Which also involves getting some storage space, so I can, uh, relieve yours of the battle suit.

[He hasn't forgotten it, in all that moving of things from the apartment. It just has size requirements. He could have just dehydrated it, one supposes; wouldn't be the first time he packed gear that way.]

I know. I went through something similar when I went. Only problem is that I had previous accounts under a different ID bolt, so I had to go through two weeks worth of paperwork trying to prove that I am who I am.

[Her eyes will never be the same.]

Really? What happens if I happen to want to keep it?

[She doesn’t really, she’s kidding.]

I'm thinking my four days of back and fourth was expedited because they got tired of dramatic monologues.

[He senses her humor, and smirks for it.]

I'd have to think of some user manuals for you. But I doubt it's in your style. Much to bulky. Also, I don't think the control suits is in your size.

[At this point, he has to pause and tell himself, in his best inner Minion voice: Megamind don't get any ideas about building Roxanne anything like a super suit it will go over poorly.]

You're just jealous that I can produce fantastic dramatic speeches.

Oh, indeed. That must be it.

However, your entire oration has missed the entire point. This is not our system, but that of our captors'. It is a form of psychological torture, and as such...I see it was effective.

Except that nearly every culture with a monetary system has one of these torturous devices in place trust me. If there's a bank, I've probably robbed one back in the day.

[So there. He's sure there are OTHER robot banks.]

...oh, well, glad I'm not the only one that's recently had troubles with that place. Not, not that I'm saying that I approve of it- no, but it's just, well it's ridiculous what they put you through over there, isn't it?

At least you had an actual account though- me, I had to go through the whole mess just to be told I didn't have an account even though I've been working in an office in this metal mish-mash of a city for a month! -and, and then I had to fill out more information- not like I know why they even need half of the information they ask for, what does it all have to do with anything anyway? It's, it's mad...!

Oh, I hear you little metal... blue...buddy.

[Megamind does not know what to make of Wheatley initially, tilting his head for a moment curiously. It's like a brain bot, only... with less flair. Huh.]

[His center optic bobs in his rendition of a nod.]

-speaking of which, you seem quite the unusual shade of, um...blue. You're... Are you feeling well or is that a natural sort of thing. For you.

Oh. Yeah. I'm fine. And blue. It's a thing.

[He waves his hand, dismissing it. Yup, he's an alien. No big around here, right? Right?]
