So, skipped Day Six since it was just like Day Five. The only thing different about Day Seven is that I went to the grocery store this morning. It actually wasn't bad. Send help. I can't do this for another 27 days. At least I hope it's only another 27 days. According to what they keep saying about the peaking of the virus and the curve it'll probably be more than 27 days. I just want to go back to work. I'm going crazy. So, I think I know how Steve Rogers felt in Captain America when he was that 90 lbs weakling and he couldn't get into the military for anything. He stood there, helpless and frustrated, while everyone else was out doing their duty and he could do nothing. That's how I feel right now, helpless and frustrated. I'm not even sure where to start. Been an emotional couple of days, for sure. Went last night to get my stuff from work. I did cry, I told myself I wouldn't but I did. At least I got to see almost all of my favorite co-workers. Lots of hugs, some tears, promises that when Corona is over we'll get together and properly celebrate my leaving. In ( Read more... ) -

Well, got quite the shock today. My boss called saying I was effective, immediately, off of the work schedule. Apparently, since we have been such a low census and have been having to put so many of us on call, they decided to just cut their loses and turn me loose five shifts early. Actually ventured out today to the grocery store because of much needed supplies. Can't believe how bare the shelves are. No meats. No TP. Crazy stuff was out that you wouldn't think about. Mayonnaise? Why would people buy that in bulk? People have just lost their minds is all I can figure ( Read more... ) -

Good news? Bad news? Today. Got a call from my future employer that my orientation has been moved back from the 6th to the 27th. Good grief. Human resources called today to tell me that the OR (where I'm going to start working) is only doing surgeries that can't wait and putting all elective surgeries on hold. So, work last night went good. A long night more than a hard night, which is ok. I've had more hard nights at that place than long nights so it's been a nice change. So day three of journaling. It's a record. It is truly the end of the world as we know it. Not sure if I feel fine though. Maybe I do need to start doing this regularly. Wow, two days in a row. No wonder we're in the middle of a pandemic. I found journaling yesterday to be way more therapeutic than I expected. It actually brought me a measure of peace to get things off my mind and on a "page". I used to journal daily, many years ago, and got out of the habit of it.
