So, since Friday was one of the days during which Rory had no classes, she decided to sleep in nice and late, and then give her room a thorough cleaning

Jamie knocked on the door. "Hello? I'm here for your trash."

Rory blinked. "Hi, Jamie. And why? Are you making an art project involving trash or something?"

"I'm doing this in an effort to make the campus more beautiful," Jamie said in a tone that might have hinted that he's said it about a zillion times before. "Though using it for art is definitely an idea. I was just going to properly dispose of it."

"Beautification committee?" Rory guessed, retrieving her wastebasket. "At least you don't have to paint anything."

Before there's even a knock at the door, Jaye's saying "Bored," outside of Rory's room.

"It's a boring day," Rory decides. "Hi, Jaye!"

"Hi!" she says, stepping inside. "Entertain me. Or suggest entertainment. I'm not picky."

"I'm sadly being boring and figuring out what to wear to Homecoming," says Rory, frowning. "Are you going?"

Luke rapped on her door. "Hi," he said, trying to be his normal self.

But he was a Skywalker and hiding their emotions had never been a strong point.

"Hey!" Rory said cheerfully. "How goes your Friday?"

She glanced up, and frowned. "Are you okay?"

"I heard you have a date for Homecoming," Luke said.

He tried not to sound hurt.

He missed by about a lightyear.

"Bridge and I are going as friends...." Rory said, confused. "You look like someone just told you your puppy died."
