Aeryn's left before, but she's never witnessed what it's like to be left behind. It's not the best thing to realize. Following John's lead, she suggests, "Hit?"
Angela knew nothign she could do would be enough, so she went for the cliche. She had a box of pretty pink Kleenex and a gallon of mint chocolate chip ice cream in hand as she tapped on the door to Rory's room.
That got a rueful smile from Angela. "Like you haven't seen me be worse over less," she said. "But ... maybe Aeryn's right. Someday the bed will be you-sized again."
Rory nodded. "Can you guys stay? I mean, if you want. You don't have to. Don't feel obligated because I'm sad. I hate crying because tears make people feel like they have to do things," she babbled.
Aeryn looks back at John just for confirmation, and he's already nodding. Good. "If I didn't want to be here, I wouldn't be," she assures her. It might not have been true when she first got here, but it is now.
