I have 1400 books! I only wish I could read as fast as I can buy them. I'm hanging on till this weekend, trying not to buy anything, because Chapters is having a kind-of sale, an increased discount for members. Well I can't resist that! I'll have to give myself a limit though, so I don't go overboard. I owe Maria a book too

I know, I'm so close to being a qualified/certified/licensed teacher! (Just which is the right word for it anyhow?)

Do you have a Joann's in Toronto, or are those stores only in the US? From what I understand they're very similar to Spotlight.

I should email or something - or even call!! - but how's it all going with the demands of a hungry newborn?

I manage a lot of computer time while Tamsyn is feeding. People have been coming to visit since she was born (which is lovely of course!)and I usually keep feeding her regardless - although I ask if they don't mind if I get a boob out!!

I can just imagine! I'm hesitant to call actually because I figure any time's probably a bad time. But it would be nice to chat!

But what is castor sugar? Is it like sugar in the raw, or something?
Oh tosh, I only have three hundred books or thereabouts. If I actually owned every book I've ever read, that would be something--but most of my reading took place in a library until I became all independent and could buy my own books. I'll get there, I'll get there. Oh yes, I finally broke down and got my own discount card/membership thingy at Books-A-Million.

Ugh, sorry. Caster sugar is just a type of white sugar common in Aus. Here they call it, ah, granulated sugar I think. It's just refined white sugar. We have "white sugar" and "caster sugar" back home and caster's better than white but I'm not sure why. Raw is, of course, chunkier and less processed so it has that off-white colour.
In high school I kept a list of the books I read for this monthly competition they had (I usually won!) but it's since disappeared. I'm always curious about all those books I read right up to uni when I started buying them for myself.
Good for you on the discount card! They're evil things! ;)

Also congrats on the books. I have no idea how many I have, but I'm probably somewhere in the neighborhood of 1400 or so. People like us are sort of crazy, no?

Sadly they wouldn't do so well in the mail :(
Yes very few people really get it do they? I don't mind if they think I'm crazy or obsessive or whatever - just give me my books!! I'm in at the local Chapters so frequently they've really got to know me - not to mention my fave secondhand places!
