lemony heaven

I have 1400 books! I only wish I could read as fast as I can buy them. I'm hanging on till this weekend, trying not to buy anything, because Chapters is having a kind-of sale, an increased discount for members. Well I can't resist that! I'll have to give myself a limit though, so I don't go overboard. I owe Maria a book too ( Read more... )

That lemon stuff looks awesome--I love lemons, well, any citrus actually, I think that must be my favorite, or one of my favotite flavors. Hard to pick a #1! Chocolate is way up near the top as well, and so is mint, strawberry, and fresh basil. I love the smell of basil--I snip off pieces from my plant and keep them around the house.

But what is castor sugar? Is it like sugar in the raw, or something?

Oh tosh, I only have three hundred books or thereabouts. If I actually owned every book I've ever read, that would be something--but most of my reading took place in a library until I became all independent and could buy my own books. I'll get there, I'll get there. Oh yes, I finally broke down and got my own discount card/membership thingy at Books-A-Million.

Naturally I was thinking of you when I posted this! And my sis.

Ugh, sorry. Caster sugar is just a type of white sugar common in Aus. Here they call it, ah, granulated sugar I think. It's just refined white sugar. We have "white sugar" and "caster sugar" back home and caster's better than white but I'm not sure why. Raw is, of course, chunkier and less processed so it has that off-white colour.

In high school I kept a list of the books I read for this monthly competition they had (I usually won!) but it's since disappeared. I'm always curious about all those books I read right up to uni when I started buying them for myself.

Good for you on the discount card! They're evil things! ;)

Ah, so it's just sugar then. I'd like to try that recipe (I'll sneak a couple of lemons from work! Shh!) since the last one you gave me turned out so fabulously!
