Wheee! I've been sporadically checking in, but I wasn't really expecting another installment already. You really are cranking these epic stories out at a crazy level!
There's so much going on here, I almost don't know where to start. Poor Teyla. That reveal must have been such a blow to her. She just seemed to be finding some balance again. And poor John for his part in it. Neither are too blame, but I'm sure they won't feel that way.
The Satedans made a nice addition. I was so glad to see Ronon and Melena together and joining the crew. The Satedan betrayal wasn't completely unexpected, but still left me fuming. And poor Reckell. You keep killing people I like! 0_o I kept hoping he would tun out to have bullet bouncing scales, or lizard healing
Weren't you the one who called it the Necklace of Death? It took a while, but I hadn't forgotten about it.
Hey, if you liked Reckell enough to want him to survive I succeeded in lifting out of the red shirt category! Woot!
You know why Reckell is the one who died, right? Because he wasn't human -- Kell shooting him wasn't in any way random. A giant, walking, talking, thinking lizard-man had to go. (I suspect Pegasus humans are all quite xenophobic thanks to the Wraith.)
Wonderful, wonderful stuff! You are the bestest and thank you for making my year-end so much better. Plus, you've given your faithful readers something a look forward to in 2010, which is a great way to start the new year.
Did I mention how much I love this story? I do, I do, because it is a thing of beauty and a joy forever! Action, humor, angst, character interaction galore...
The Satedans made a mistake, underestimating the little civilians. Well, they made more than one mistake, because they couldn't have handled the ship and would have had to rely on threatening hostage crew. Sooner or later, they would have had the tables turned on them. Their biggest mistake was following Kell.
This is such an awesome, fabulous story! Your character development, though awesome, doesn't get in the way of your incredible, amazing plot. Such a fabulous plot! Incredibly well-written action, with well-written characters driving the action. You don't drop a note

I think she just kind of broke, she'd been captive for so long and then had about a day of being safe and she wasn't going to let these creeps take that away from her again. The Satedans sort reaped what the Genii had sowed in Miko's case.
I can't imagine Ronon, even a younger, softer Ronon, falling for a woman who was a milquetoast or wishy-washy. Not to mention that the Melena we saw in Sateda obviously had steel in her spine. She was staying with her patients, no matter what.
