Back from the dentist and everything is beyond groovy, apparently! He was extremely shocked to see what a beautiful "coral pink" my gums are, as most people apparently still have some redness and irritation at this point, with some possible swelling. So yay for exceeding with the healing! Woo! He said that pain is still expected at this point ( Read more... )

I used to get silk pretty often. I think I preferred the vanilla. I used to put it in my cereal I think and it made it sweet enough not to add sugar to cheerios etc.
yum

I liked the vanilla, too, but for some reason, it made cereal taste really funky to me. It's awesome in coffee, though!

PS - I dreamed about you last night!

I dreamed that I was spending the night, as if we were teenagers and having a slumber party. you went to the store, and I was mortified that I got toast and bread crumbs all over in your bedding. You were picking up something really silly, like some Mad Dog 20/20.

Ibuprofin serves two purposes- pain relief and it also takes out some of the swelling that occurs.

I was on both when I had my wisdom teeth out, and it was smooth sailing.

Yeah, my dentist said that ibuprofen was the way to go, so I gave it a try - totally worked!

And now I have all this leftover Vicodin for other needs, should they arise!

Make that "dessertish"... I don't think that drinking super vanilla-ey soy milk would make you feel dehydrated, and as if you were standing in the middle of a dirt field surrounded by cacti.

That happened to me for the first YEAR after I got my WT out, and sometimes still does. It's gross, no?

But I LOVE those little portable flossy-pokey things they sell. You know, floss on one end and a sharp stabby thing on the other? Love 'em. Just be careful.

EEK! The whole idea of sticking a pokey thing back there still gives me the squeamies! The dentist gave me a nice curved syringe to help get rid of stuff, but I haven't had to use it yet. If nothing else, I can hang onto it and use it to medicate Bacci, should the need arise.

Oh the syringe is nice. You don't have to actually jam it in there... just get it close and use the water pressure.

Grossest thing ever: one of my incisions got infected. Let me tell you how GREAT that tasted.

Oooh, dry socket? A couple of my coworkers had that issue when they had theirs removed, and because of the lingering pain, I was afraid I had something that was wrong, too. I heard that there is an AWFUL taste in your mouth, like you drank a gallon of eau de dead raccoon.
