*raises eyebrow* mhm, like what happened in the 2006 Conneticut primary when Joe Lieberman ran for re-election? Those same ethics were on display when a torrent of anti-Semitism (which included ridiculing Hadassah Lieberman's name) and contempt was unleashed towards Al Gore's 2004 running mate.

Over the years, I've come to realize that our politicians have feet (and legs) of clay, but -- yes!-- they are still capable of not living up to my very modest expectations that they act like decent human beings.

I'm not saying it doesn't happen -- just that it shouldn't, and that it's bloody tacky when it does. It's the sort of thing that makes me want to quit my job.

And yes -- the anti-Semitism was beyond appalling. That it's still considered a viable political tactic is nauseating.
