Angel was just making her way towards the stairs (to head back to her room after spending another night outside flying) when she heard it: the sound of crying. She didn't recognize it specifically as Jay crying. They'd only just met and it wasn't like she'd heard the girl cry. Angel only knew that someone was crying and she was just mildly curious enough to investigate.

"Whoa!" Angel exclaimed with genuine concern when she discovered it was none other than her new winged friend crying her heart out. She passed through the open door without invitation or the slightest bit of hesitance. "Who rattled your cage? I'll put knuckles to the creep!"

Jay's tears were never one of a normal girl's. It was one of the few times she let her own powers slip, and several voices cried out along with hers. It was odd- but at least Jay never wept alone. At Angel's exclamation, she glanced up for just a half moment to make sure it wasn't someone she didn't want around before returning her face to her hands.

"A-Alex." She chocked out. "I hate him! I hate him so much." She probably wasn't really acting her age. But dammit. She was leaving as soon as she could- so what did it matter what other people thought of her?

"You mean that big phony they've got on ice?" Angel asked for clarification-- but didn't actually wait for any confirmation to continue. "That's just as well then. I already stomped him good and plenty just the night before last. It'll be no trouble at all doing it again." Yet for all the bravado and loud intention to hurt this alternate Alex for making Jay cry, Angel wasn't actually going anywhere except to sit down right next to Jay on the bed. Once there, she reached out to companionably and soothingly rub along her friend's back, down the spine and mindful of her wings.

"Not just him." Jay replied. "The real one too."

She really couldn't help it, as soon as Angel began to calm her down, Jay leaned over and started to cry against her shoulder, letting not so much the tears, as the truth out.

"He fucking- fucking left me with that because I couldn't- I couldn't put out so he left and it's all my fault and I miss him and hate him so much. I hate him so much Angel." She was beginning to hyperventilate, an odd sensation for her these days. After all- it was one of the few things she could do that her body wouldn't vehemently react against.
