Carson stood and stretched, taking a quick look in at Radek as he left his lab. There was so much to do, and he was worried for his friend, but now he was starving.
Rodney looked up from his task and tapped his radio.
"Um, yes, sure. Lunch, sounds fabulous. Gimme a minute, okay?"
Carson and food, he thought and looked down at the laptop. There was still so much to do, and to organise while Radek was out of the count. But -- Carson and food. With a sigh he closed the laptop. Well, this would have to wait for a while. As if to second the idea, his stomach was growling

Miko's eyes went wide when brilliant Doctor McKay asked for help. She would be most honoured to help him so he could achieve his glorious scientific pursuits.
She watched him leave before returning to computer to work.
Carson made his way into the mess hall, surveying the place through the noonday crowd. Rodney would be along shortly, he knew, so he got in line and would have Rodney join him when he got there. He wondered if there would be anything hot for lunch or if he'd end up with a sandwich, like he'd had for breakfast.
Cold food really wasn't what he wanted right now. He needed something hot and filling. There was too much stress in his life right now, just like in everyone else's. A good hot meal would help, though, and he and Rodney could talk about Radek and what to do.
Rodney hurried to the mess hall and found Carson in the food line. He dodged a few marines and gave two botanists a grin as he tried to catch up with his friend.
"Hey," he said as he squeezed Carson's shoulder. "What's on the menu today?"
Carson grinned as Rodney joined him. "I've no idea, but it smells... Athosian, I think." He put a hand on Rodney's back, glad for the nearness and the touch. "Radek's sleeping," he said. "It was bad this morning, but at least he's getting some rest now."
